Asugi: Ah, mission accomplished. I got a ton of useful information tonight. Today's undercover work was riskier than usual. I almost got caught this time. "Almost" doesn't count though, heh heh. Time to share what I learned and go relax.
Rinkah: Asugi! It's about time!
Asugi: M-Mom?! Shouldn't you be asleep? It's really late.
Rinkah: Yes. I SHOULD be asleep. But I'm not, because I was worried half to death.
Asugi: I'm fine, Mom. It's an early morning tomorrow. You should be asleep!
Rinkah: You try sleeping with a head full of terrible visions of your son in chains!
Asugi: Look, I get sent out on these recon trips because I'm good at them. We all risk our lives when we're out on our missions, and I'm no different.
Rinkah: Ah, but most of us are smart enough not to go ALONE! And since I couldn't sleep, I figured I'd hang around until you came back.
Asugi: I told you, I'm fine. I do what I have to, and that's the end of it. If you stay up all night, you'll just be a liability to all of us tomorrow.
Rinkah: Maybe so, but—
Asugi: Look, it's late. I'm exhausted. We should both get some rest.
Rinkah: Hmph...fine. Good night.

Asugi: I've successfully infiltrated the enemy base. Piece of cake! (Mmm...cake.) Now to scope out what the leaders here are up to. They've been acting suspicious. If I can just find some evidence that they're planning something...
Rinkah: Right. Let's get started.
Asugi: WHAA—?! What...? MOM?! What in the name of all that is sweet and holy are you doing here?
Rinkah: Giving you the backup you need!
Asugi: Wh-why would you follow me? This place is dangerous!
Rinkah: Weren't you listening? These missions shouldn't be handled solo.
Asugi: You shouldn't be here, Mom. This is MY mission, not yours!
Rinkah: Oh, relax. It's a simple scouting mission. You'll hardly notice I'm here.
Asugi: SHH! Be quiet!
Rinkah: M-mmph!
Asugi: Not another word! The enemy patrol is heading this way...
Rinkah: Asugi...don't do that again.
Asugi: *sigh* OK, they're gone. Gods, my heart is racing. I was certain they'd spotted us.
Rinkah: Hmph. That's no excuse.
Asugi: Geez, Mom. I know parents like to bond with their kids, but this is overkill!
Rinkah: That's ridiculous! You talk like I'm breathing down your neck... when all I want to do is go with you on all your missions to make sure you don't die!
Asugi: Ugh, enough is enough. I can't think straight when you're here. This whole mission is a bust. Let's go.
Rinkah: What?! Get back here!
Asugi: Come on, Mom. I know a shortcut back. It's time to go home.
Rinkah: But we were going to have a mother-son mission! It's a great chance to bond!
Asugi: Not anymore. Come on, let's hurry back.
Rinkah: F...fine...

Rinkah: All right, Asugi. It's time we went over tonight's mission.
Asugi: ... WE are not going anywhere. You're not coming along.
Rinkah: That's what you think. I refuse to let you go on another solo mission.
Asugi: Mom, you're being unreasonable. Don't you trust me?
Rinkah: They're taking you for granted, sending you alone all the time! Tell me I'm wrong! What kind of mother would be OK with that?!
Asugi: We each have our own part to play in this war, Mom. I'm a ninja, so I fulfill the roles that my training has prepared me for. When you follow me, it puts us both in very real danger. Instead of focusing on the mission, I can only think of protecting you.
Rinkah: Hrngh... That wasn't what I was trying to do. I was just...worried.
Asugi: ...
Rinkah: Do you know what it's like, constantly imagining these terrible fates for you? The only thing worse than you getting hurt would be knowing I could have stopped it!
Asugi: Mom... Look, this is embarrassing, so I'm only going to say it once.
Rinkah: Hm?
Asugi: When I got back from my mission that one night and I saw you waiting up for me... I was really happy.
Rinkah: That's not how I remember it...
Asugi: No, seriously. It made me realize that I had a real home to come back to. Knowing you're out there, waiting for me, makes me desperate to make it back home. No matter how much danger I'm in or what I have to do to make it back safely... I always will. I will always, always come back home to you.
Rinkah: Asugi...
Asugi: That's why I need you to stay here. My home is wherever YOU are. I can't do what I do without knowing that I have a loving home waiting for me. As long as you're here, safe and happy, I'll never lose heart.
Rinkah: ... Ugh...fine, fine. I'm sorry I barged in on your missions. I only wanted to help. But if you'd rather I backed off, then I will.
Asugi: Mom... Thank you. You don't know what that means to me.
Rinkah: I'll do my best to trust in your skills and keep the house in one piece for you. You're usually hungry when you come back, right? Should I have food ready for you?
Asugi: That...would be AMAZING!
Rinkah: Great! I'll make sure to always have something sweet in there, of course. I followed you on your missions because I love you, you know. And now...I'll stop for the same reason.
Asugi: Thanks, Mom. I love you too.
