Sophie: Moooooooother!
Peri: What is it, Sophie?
Sophie: Look! I found some of those flowers you love! Ones just like what you have!
Peri: Ooh! Pretty! Thanks!
Sophie: Heehee. I'm glad you like them!
Peri: Although...where'd you manage to pick these from?
Sophie: That's what's so amazing! They were really close by! I can go back and get you more, if you want. There's a bunch more!
Peri: Awww, rats. I bet you anything these are the same ones I planted the other day.
Sophie: Then that means... Oh no! That explains why I hadn't seen these flowers there before! I'm so sorry, Mother!
Peri: That's all right. I appreciate the thought!
Sophie: Can...can I go back and plant these again? They'll grow back their roots, right? Awwwww! Why am I always screwing up things like this?!

Sophie: *sigh* Why am I such a klutz?
Peri: What's got you looking so down, Sophie?
Sophie: Hey, Mother... Do you think I'll always be a klutz? Earlier today, I went to the market and got a bunch of apples for myself and Avel. When I got back, I decided to see if he could catch one in his mouth, but... I let go in the windup, and the apple hit an old lady behind me instead! Also, Avel fell over. I don't know why that happened.
Peri: Ahahahaha! You're kidding me!
Sophie: Mother! Don't laugh at me.
Peri: But you're such a riot!
Sophie: I'm seriously worrying about my future here, Mother!
Peri: Oh. Really? Geez. Is being a little clumsy bad? I don't quite get it.
Sophie: I'm not a little clumsy! My life is one long series of mistakes and blunders!
Peri: If you mess up, just try again. Easy. You've got the backbone for it, I know.
Sophie: But... But...
Peri: A clumsy person is a more unpredictable target in battle, too!
Sophie: Now you're just making things up, Mother.
Peri: Sophie, you need to meet me halfway here.
Sophie: *sigh* Thanks for cheering me up, though.

Sophie: Moooooooother!
Peri: Sophie! You seem to have bounced back from the other day.
Sophie: I sure have! What you said the other day really cheered me up.
Peri: I don't think I did anything, though! You just forgot everything while you were asleep. That happens a lot with you.
Sophie: Why do you always have to tease me?
Peri: I just can't resist! Hahahaha!
Sophie: Oh, that does remind me, though... I made a small mistake at breakfast today. I...accidentally gave the horses the soldiers' meals.
Peri: Wow. That's a new one.
Sophie: But once I realized my error, I rushed to make fresh meals for everyone. Suddenly, they all joined in to help! It made me really happy.
Peri: How nice of them! You must have been pretty relieved.
Sophie: Yeah, I was!
Peri: But I could have guessed they'd do that. You know why?
Sophie: Maybe they were worried that I would burn everything?
Peri: Nah, it's because they get a kick out of watching you! The way you get back at it, no matter what happens... It lights a fire in them that makes them want to try harder too!
Sophie: It does? I don't know...
Peri: If you ask me, I think you're fine the way you are. Just be yourself! That's all anybody wants out of you!
Sophie: OK, Mother! I think I can do that. Oh! Also, I think I found some flowers nearby that I'm sure you'll like. We can go check them out together!
Peri: That sounds OK. But...you didn't...
Sophie: Don't worry! They aren't the ones you replanted. I didn't pick any in advance, either—just in case!
Peri: Whew! I have a hard enough time getting them to grow without people yanking them out. Come on—show me these flowers of yours!
Sophie: All right! Let's go!
