Percy: Sophie! I'm calling you out!

Sophie: Percy? What's gotten into you?

Percy: My dragon, Ace, is super strong. But your horse, Avel, is pretty good, too. I want to settle once and for all which of them is the better steed!

Sophie: Oho... Interesting idea, Percy! You're on! Avel's a little too headstrong to listen to what I tell him... But when he's of a mind to, he's the fastest, strongest horse of them all!

Percy: And my Ace is the best dragon there is! He'll make Avel look like a joke!

Sophie: But how do we pit them against each other? I'd hate to have them fight.

Percy: Why not just race them? Though Ace would be flying, so maybe that's not fair...

Sophie: Psh! That doesn't matter to us! When Avel gets up a good head of steam, he might as well be flying too!

Percy: Yessss! It's on now! Let's fly, Ace!

Sophie: Mount up, Avel!

Percy: Hey...where's Ace? Huh. Did I forget to bring him along with me today...?

Sophie: W-wait! Avel! Where are you going?! That's the wrong way! AVEEEEEEEL!

Percy: B-be right back! I'm gonna go get Ace!

Sophie: I've gotta stop Avel! Oh, Avel, please wait! WAIT FOR MEEEE!

Percy: Sophie!

Sophie: Percy. I'm ready for you this time.

Percy: Today we're deciding once and for all whether Ace or Avel is the better steed!

Sophie: You got that right! I can't wait! Well...I say that, but... we're gonna have to wait, because Avel went charging off somewhere.

Percy: Whaaaaat?! He's missing AGAIN?

Sophie: I shudder to think what he must be up to somewhere...

Percy: We've gotta find him, then! Me and Ace will help!

Sophie: You sure, Percy? It's really my problem...

Percy: Nah, I'm worried too. I mean, I bet you're right... Avel probably IS ruining someone's day somewhere.

Sophie: Y-yeah. I'm worried about my horse, but I'm even more worried about whoever's in his path.

Percy: I'll take to the air with Ace to see if I can't spot Avel from above!

Sophie: OK! While you're doing that, I'll check all the places I know he likes to go. There's a lot of them, though... I hope I can get to them all.

Percy: Why don't you ride Avel? That way, you can cover more ground.

Sophie: Good thinking, Percy! It shouldn't take me long to check on horseback! Here, Avel! It's time for you to strut your stuff!

Percy: ...Oh. Right.

Sophie: Yeaaahhh... I kinda forgot...

Percy: Whoops.

Sophie: Never mind Ace and Avel... We need to get our own acts together first...

Percy: Yeah...I think you hit the nail on the head...

Sophie: Yep. Nothing's gonna get in our way this time.

Percy: We're finally finding out who's better: Ace or Avel!

Sophie: Heh heh...I hate to break it to you, but I already know the answer to that one. Don't count Avel out because he's going up against a dragon—you'll be surprised!

Percy: Hey, Ace isn't just any dragon! He's the strongest dragon in the whole wide world!

Sophie: OK, so how do we decide who wins? What are we judging by?

Percy: I came up with a few contests that would be fair for both a horse and a dragon. Like a speed-eating showdown, or a weight-pulling race. What do you think?

Sophie: Uh...hold that thought.

Percy: Why? What's wrong?

Sophie: Don't look now, but...

Percy: Uh-oh, don't tell me— Wait, really? Ace and Avel are...getting along?

Sophie: Yeah...it's almost unsettling. Avel usually wolfs down his food, but he's actually sharing with Ace this time!

Percy: When did they get so close?

Sophie: Good question.

Percy: ...

Sophie: ...

Percy: Why don't we call off the contest?

Sophie: Yeah. I don't have the heart to go through with it now. Not after seeing how close the two of them apparently are.

Percy: Yeah. We can still do something together, though! Let's all go for a walk! There's a big open field not far off from here!

Sophie: I like this plan! Let's go!

Percy: And on the way, you can tell me stories about you and Avel.

Sophie: Only if you tell me about your adventures with Ace!

Percy: Glad to!

Percy: What's up? Uhmmm... A-Ace misses Avel, that's all!

Sophie: Oh! Let me go see if I can find Avel, then. Wait...where's Ace?

Sophie: Percy...

Percy: I think about you all the time... Even when I'm supposed to be doing other stuff, my mind wanders and I think of you. Is that...weird?

Sophie: Aw, Percy. No, it's not weird at all. In fact, I think it's sweet that you think about me so much. It gives me warm fuzzies inside.

Percy: It...it does?

Sophie: So I meant what I said before about coming to see me whenever. Even if you don't have a reason! I'll make sure to visit you sometimes, too.

Percy: If I don't need a reason, then I'll come see you every day! Wait... Wouldn't it be easier if we just WERE together? Like, all the time?

Sophie: Hmm...yeah. Being together forever would make it simpler, it's true. But we're just talking about spending time together...right? Let's not get ahead of ourselves here...
