Shiro: Hey, Mom! Do you feel like doing something today?

Orochi: Why do you ask, Shiro?

Shiro: Well, we didn't get to spend much time together when I was growing up, right? Maybe now we can make up for that with some mom-son bonding time!

Orochi: You sure know how to make me smile... But I can't really think of anything to do right now. I appreciate the sentiment though.

Shiro: Nothing at all? How can we bond if you don't want to do anything? I mean, I can't spend time with Dad. He's always preoccupied with the war. I guess you don't see him often either. Has he ever given you any gifts?

Orochi: Sh-Shiro... Your father isn't like that.

Shiro: Well, I'm not like HIM! I want you to know how special you are, Mom. Come on. Please! Can't you think of something you'd like to do?

Orochi: Heehee.

Shiro: Wh-why are you laughing at me?!

Orochi: Sorry, sorry. But why are you comparing yourself to your father like that? I don't think he would appreciate it. I love being married to Ryoma, dear. He treats me extremely well.

Shiro: Mom... Are you sure? He's never even here to show that he cares.

Orochi: I know you don't understand, but the truth is, Ryoma loves me deeply... I can even prove it.

Shiro: I'm curious to see this so-called proof. I'll hold you to your word, Mom!

Orochi: Just you wait.

Orochi: Shiro, there you are. Do you have a minute to spare?

Shiro: Sure! Mom, why are you holding envelopes?

Orochi: This is the proof you were asking for.

Shiro: Ohh... Are those love letters?

Orochi: That's right. Each of his letters is like a treasure to me. This is the first one he ever wrote me...and this, the most recent.

Shiro: Wow, I had no idea that Dad was such a prolific writer.

Orochi: He certainly is. I was a little surprised when they kept on arriving. I never thought he would send me dozens of incredibly long letters. He discusses his feelings in person, too. But I think writing allows him to be totally free with his emotions. It's a part of him that I just adore. Heehee. What is it, Shiro? Did I catch you off guard?

Shiro: Well, I've always thought Dad was stiff and formal. I'm just surprised. Maybe I've been wrong all along. Tell me, what does he write about?

Orochi: I figured you might ask... But it's a precious secret between your father and myself.

Shiro: Now I'm even more curious! I guess I can accept that you two really do care about each other.

Orochi: I'm glad to hear you say that. And we love you too, Shiro. I hope you know that.

Shiro: I-I know that! But thanks for saying so, Mom.

Orochi: Heehee. Of course.

Shiro: Hey, Mom! Can we talk for a second?

Orochi: Sure, Shiro. What is it?

Shiro: Well, after you showed me Dad's letters, I started thinking. I thought maybe I'd try writing out my feelings too. I wanted to let you know what it is like to be your son.

Orochi: Oh, really? How thoughtful. I'd love to read anything you wrote.

Shiro: I don't know. Now it just doesn't seem good enough.

Orochi: Why not, sweetheart?

Shiro: It's not very special if I'm just doing the same thing that Dad does, right? That's why I've decided to treat you to a delicious meal too!

Orochi: A nice meal, you say? Shiro, you shouldn't have.

Shiro: I insist. Anything you want! Well, anything I can find in the forest at least. But I can't get started until you tell me what you'd like to eat. Does anything sound good?

Orochi: Hmm, I'm not sure... Can you give me a bit of time to think about it?

Shiro: I guess it would be hard to think of something off the top of your head. Just let me know! More importantly, now I've got a leg up on Dad!

Orochi: Why are you still thinking of your father as a rival? Shiro, you shouldn't be competing over something like this.

Shiro: But I'd feel like a terrible son if I wasn't able to make you happy.

Orochi: Heehee, you sound just like your father.

Shiro: I do?! What do you mean?

Orochi: Ryoma is always saying the same thing. "I'd fail you as a husband if I couldn't make you happy." Heehee, the apple didn't fall far from the tree with you.

Shiro: Damn it! He's always got an advantage over me!

Orochi: Heehee, don't get upset, Shiro. I understand how you feel. Being loved this much by you... Well, it makes me so happy to be your mother.
