Percy: Mom, I'm home! Is dinner ready yet?

Felicia: Ahh, there you are, Percy. The food is just cooling on the table.

Percy: No time to wait! I'm gonna dig in.

Felicia: Oh no, that simply won't do. Have you washed your hands yet?

Percy: Oops, I forgot. I'll run and wash them now.

Felicia: Teehee, what's your hurry? The food's not going anywhere.

Percy: I have to eat fast... Every moment I'm not training is a missed opportunity. Eat fast, train fast! I need to get big and strong quickly. How else will I be able to keep you safe?

Felicia: You're going to protect me, Percy? That makes me so happy!

Percy: I promise, I'll never let anything bad happen to you. You can count on me!

Felicia: I know I can. But please, slow down and chew your food properly! It will be awfully hard to train if you have a nasty tummyache.

Percy: Good point, Mom. For the time being, I'll train myself to eat quickly but efficiently.

Felicia: Heehee, thank you.

Percy: Mom, I'm home! Is dinner ready yet?

Felicia: Oh dear, Percy! Your knee is bleeding!

Percy: Fear not, Mom! This scratch is merely a symbol of my dedication to training.

Felicia: That's a nasty injury. We need to disinfect it right away!

Percy: No, no, it's OK! I'm sure it will be fine if we leave it alone.

Felicia: That's not how injuries work. If that wound festers, you won't be happy. Now hold still a moment.

Percy: Geez, don't be such a worrywart...

Felicia: I'm your mother. I can't help but worry about you. Now let me apply the medicine...

Percy: Youch! You didn't say that would sting. Can you try to be a little more gentle?

Felicia: Percy, can't you handle just a bit of pain? How are you going to protect anybody when you're acting like a little crybaby?

Percy: What? No, I was just...pretending! Yeah, I was totally just pretending it hurt. I can't believe you actually fell for that. Go ahead, put on more medicine. I can take it!

Felicia: Heehee. I only needed a small amount, Percy. How did you end up getting hurt?

Percy: Well, I was running down a mountain as fast as I could. But I lost my footing and tripped.

Felicia: I can't believe you only got this tiny scrape. You sure got lucky. But please, can you knock off all this reckless training?

Percy: But... How can I get strong enough to protect you if I quit training?

Felicia: I know you're just doing this because you want to watch over me. It's very sweet. But the last thing I want is for you to endanger yourself. I wouldn't want someone who didn't value their own safety to protect me. I care about you more than anything and couldn't stand to see you get hurt.

Percy: You're right... I'm sorry, Mom.

Felicia: It's OK, so long as you understand. Now, how about I make us some dinner?

Percy: Yay! All that tumbling made me hungry!

Percy: Hey, Mom...

Felicia: Oh dear, what's the matter? You seem sad today.

Percy: I've been wondering... I don't know if I can ever get strong enough to protect you.

Felicia: Why would you say such a thing?

Percy: There are so many strong people all around the camp. Much stronger than me... What do I do if I come across a foe who is more powerful than I am? Thinking about that makes me lose confidence.

Felicia: Ahh, I see. Well don't you worry. The key to getting stronger is working hard. If you do that, one day your dream will come true.

Percy: You're just trying to make me feel better...

Felicia: No, I wouldn't lie. Someday, I bet you'll be the strongest person in the world.

Percy: Someday isn't good enough. What if evil rears its head before I'm ready to defeat it?

Felicia: I'll keep you safe until your training is complete. And once that day comes, you can protect me, Percy.

Percy: That sounds like a great plan. I'm gonna bust my tail and work even harder. Then no enemy will dare challenge me.

Felicia: That's the spirit! I'll cheer you on every step of the way. And maybe make some of your favorite dishes too!

Percy: Yay! Thanks, Mom!
