'''Ophelia''':

Can I have a moment of your invaluable time, Avatar?

'''Avatar''':

You look awfully serious, Ophelia. What's wrong?

'''Ophelia''':

It's your aura. Something has gotten into it...like...like... Like manure into a pristine pool! We have to clean it at once.

'''Avatar''':

My WHAT has manure in it?!

'''Ophelia''':

Your aura—the energy that radiates from people. Yours is usually so beautiful, but it's gotten dank and dirty. Stinky even.

'''Avatar''':

My energy...smells?

'''Ophelia''':

More importantly, a bad aura can muck up your entire life!

'''Avatar''':

It can? Is there something we can do about it?

'''Ophelia''':

Never fear. That's why I'm here. If you hold a holy stone, face west at dusk, then beg for celestial intervention... a messenger from the heavens will descend to bless you. Then your aura will be all spiffy again. We must act in haste!

'''Avatar''':

Thank you, Ophelia. I...I never know what to expect from you. You're an odd duck, but I'm glad you're here with us.

'''Ophelia''':

As one who loves both ducks and oddities, I will take that as high praise.

'''Avatar''':

Oh, good.

'''Ophelia''':

But I cannot rest on my laurels. I must achieve the impossible and more. I am a chosen one, after all, and I must live up to my fated role! Please, offer me no more compliments. It's a life of thorns for me. I must do what cannot be done and bear my backbreaking responsibilities. Then I will be truly worthy of being a chosen one.

'''Avatar''':

Well, if I can help in any way...

Avatar: I've been meaning to ask you, Ophelia... What is a chosen one actually responsible for?

Ophelia: Oh! A question that I could answer for all of infinity and never be done speaking! But let's take my father for a start. As a chosen one, he names things.

Avatar: Odin...names things?

Ophelia: Haven't you heard him do it? He makes reality more real with his words. His naming prowess is beyond poetry!

Avatar: Odin is something else, all right.

Ophelia: ......

Avatar: You got silent all of a sudden.

Ophelia: I pale in comparison to him. He's all sparkle and thunder! Even his "bam" is bamtastic! But I'm all fizzle and flop. Understand?

Avatar: Yes? And no?

Ophelia: My father IS a chosen one, while I'm just a pretender. A poor imitation!

Avatar: I doubt that, Ophelia. Is there anything I can do to help?

Ophelia: You? Help me to be more chosen-ish?

Avatar: You're my friend. I'll do anything to help you reach your true potential.

Ophelia: What an ambitious glint in your eye! You'd help me...name names? Hope lives! Why don't we start with some naming exercises. You toss out a name, and I'll give it its TRUE name.

Avatar: All right. How about the sky?

Ophelia: Divinius Domus?

Avatar: Clouds.

Ophelia: Hmm...Fluffy Vagabonds? Ack. That's horrible! I can't do this! My power of naming is mired in the ordinary. I must break free!

Avatar: Why so upset? This really doesn't sound like you, Ophelia.

Ophelia: I will break free! Give me more names! I must climb out of my sad abyss... my...my Delirium Chasmatis!

Avatar: Then more names coming your way. We'll keep at it until you beat this, Ophelia...

Ophelia: Thank you for all your help with my naming problem, Avatar. I'm just sorry that you had to witness my failure. I'm a terrible chosen one. Fortunately, the world has my father to watch over it. I'm giving up.

Avatar: What? But your names were amazing. So out there, I couldn't believe my ears!

Ophelia: You're just saying that to be nice.

Avatar: No, really! I mean, calling wyvern's dung...Arthur's Slophat? I don't even know what that means!

Ophelia: Haven't you noticed? Dragons always drop doo-doo on Arthur's head.

Avatar: Ew. Can I speak honestly with you, Ophelia?

Ophelia: Yeah, for sure! I mean...verily! Speak as if each word is a shooting star of truth!

Avatar: Um, well, about that right there. You really don't need to speak in such a flowery way.

Ophelia: Flowery?

Avatar: I feel like sometimes you dress up your words to sound just like your father. But Odin is Odin. And you're you. You have your own path to becoming a chosen one. Don't imitate his.

Ophelia: Wow. I never thought about it like that. Walk my own path, huh? Good advice.

Avatar: Maybe Odin thinks I'm dull, but I just like things a little simpler. Whatever you choose to do, Ophelia, I'll like you no matter what. I do think that if you simply focus on being you, you'll be a chosen one sooner.

Ophelia: You're a good friend, Avatar.

Avatar: I try.

Ophelia: Will you always be so honest with me? I welcome the advice.

Avatar: I...I doubt I have any more advice beyond that. But I'll always be your friend.

Ophelia: Yay! Thanks, Avatar! Oh, look! Your aura was so mucky before. But now it's cleared right up!

Avatar: Oh. I forgot all about my mucky aura. Is that really...a real thing?

Ophelia: Is it? Yes! I love anything spiritual and celestial. I really do. Wait! Your aura is changing before my very eyes. It...it looks just like my father's. You must be a chosen one too! So, how about it, Avatar? I'm tired of being all fizzle and flop. How about we both go for sparkle and thunder?

Avatar: No, no—that's all right. I like how I am just fine.

Ophelia: What?! Now that I see the true you, I give you my eternal pledge! I now grab your hand, and we will ascend into chosenality in togetheritude! Come on... Don't hold back, Avatar...

Ophelia: ...

Avatar: Ophelia, is something on your mind?

Ophelia: Ah, Mother. Of course you could tell. Chosen ones see everything, don't they?

Avatar: Talk to me. Who knows? I might be able to help.

Ophelia: I've been wondering something. Do you think I'll become a chosen one?

Avatar: What? Why would you think otherwise?

Ophelia: Well, it's just that I'm not strong like you and Father.

Avatar: So that's what's been on your mind? It's OK. You can become a chosen one too.

Ophelia: You don't know how I feel. You're so powerful already.

Avatar: Even I wasn't this strong in the beginning.

Ophelia: Huh?

Avatar: Strength came after I was a chosen one.

Ophelia: Really?

Avatar: It's true. Tell me, do you know who chose me, Ophelia?

Ophelia: Hmm, fate? Or the gods perhaps?

Avatar: No. Nothing like that. I was chosen by you.

Ophelia: By me? What do you mean?

Avatar: Having you gave me incredible strength. Because I wanted to protect you, no matter what.

Ophelia: Oh, I had no idea.

Avatar: That's why I said it's OK. Eventually, you'll become a chosen one. You're my daughter.

Ophelia: Thanks, Mother.

Ophelia: Hi, Mother!

Avatar: Morning, Ophelia. You're in an awfully good mood today.

Ophelia: Thanks to you, I am. You pulled me free when I had sunk into a whirlpool of despair.

Avatar: Oh really? Well, I'm glad to hear that I helped.

Ophelia: Now that I have moved past that darkness, I need you to teach me everything. Battlefield strategy, culinary techniques... whatever wisdom you can spare.

Avatar: Oh my. May I ask, why the sudden interest?

Ophelia: Well, it's pretty simple. Someday, I may be chosen, like you, right? If that happens, I need to make sure that I'm ready.

Avatar: Heehee, that's a good point.

Ophelia: More importantly, generations to come should benefit from your experience. I need your help, Mother. I must become stronger. With your guidance, I can develop the tenacity and skill to back up my words. Maybe then I could inspire and help people.

Avatar: Hmm. Well if you feel that strongly about it, I'd be happy to teach you what I know.

Ophelia: Thank you, Mother! Can we begin with some chores?

Avatar: Of course. Shall we start by washing the dishes?

Ophelia: All right. How about these plates here? AHH!

Ophelia: Aw, Mother, I broke the plates. Again. I'm sorry.

Avatar: Oh my, Ophelia, you were quite up front with the apology this time.

Ophelia: A true chosen one doesn't try to hide from their mistakes, right?

Avatar: Heehee, that's true! How splendid, Ophelia.
