Hinoka: Yeah, Kana? What is it?
Kana(F): Look! I picked some pretty flowers for you! They're yellow like the sun!
Hinoka: Oh, thank you, Kana. They're very pretty.
Kana(F): Do you like them?
Hinoka: I do. But what's gotten into you lately? You seem to be bringing me an awful lot of flowers these days.
Kana(F): I just remember that when I was real little, we'd go looking at flowers together. You always smiled so much. And I love your smile, Mama! So I decided to start bringing you lots and lots of flowers to help you smile!
Hinoka: Haha. I think I remember that too. You've got a good memory, Kana. I'm glad you've held on to that. But I have a request for you.
Kana(F): Anything, Mama. What do you need?
Hinoka: Remember how I told you that flowers are living things too? Well, when you pick them, it hurts them, and they start to wither away. You should never take a life if it's not necessary. Even a flower's life.
Kana(F): Oh no! I've been hurting them?! It was an accident! I'm sorry, flowers!
Hinoka: Don't worry, Kana. I'm sure the flowers will forgive you. The important thing is that you don't pick any more of them, OK?
Kana(F): OK! B-but...if I don't do that, then how can I show you the neat flowers I find?
Hinoka: Hm. Next time you find some, come and get me. Then we can go and look at them together. How does that sound?
Kana(F): Really? You won't be too busy?
Hinoka: Me? Too busy for you? Never!
Kana(F): OK, then it's a deal! We'll go look at all the pretty flowers together! That's a promise, Mama!

Hinoka: You mean the red ones? Hm... They're lovely. Not too gaudy or showy. There's something...noble about them.
Kana(F): Isn't there? And I love their color... They reminded me of you, Mama.
Hinoka: Wh-what? A flower? Me? Um...thank you, dear. It's a little embarrassing to be compared to a flower...but it's also kind of nice.
Kana(F): Don't be embarrassed, Mama! I love flowers, but I love your smiles even more!
Hinoka: Oh? Well, I love your smiles even more than that!
Kana(F): Really? Yay!
Hinoka: Oh, that reminds me: I have something to show you.
Kana(F): Oooh, is it something good? Can I see it right now? What is it?
Hinoka: Teehee, calm down. I don't have it right now, but it's—
Kana(F): Ah! Wait! Don't tell me! That way I'll be even more surprised when you have it.
Hinoka: Fine. I guess I'll just have to keep it a secret until then!
Kana(F): Yay! I can't wait!

Kana(F): Mama, I'm here! Where is that thing you wanted to show me?
Hinoka: Hey, Kana! Come look at this!
Kana(F): Oh wow! This is such a big book! And look at all these flowers! Where did you get all of them?
Hinoka: These are all of the flowers you've been bringing me. I dried and pressed them between the pages to preserve them. I figured it was the perfect way for me to keep all of your little gifts safe.
Kana(F): This is amazing! Like, really, really amazing! I hadn't realized how many flowers I'd brought you. Look! There are the yellow daisies I gave you the other day!
Hinoka: *chuckle* Yeah, I was pretty surprised when I counted them earlier. There were a lot more than I'd thought. I added them as I got them, and in the blink of an eye, I'd filled the entire book.
Kana(F): Mama, thank you for taking such good care of them. This makes me so happy!
Hinoka: And thank you! For all the flowers and the love you've given me. I'll cherish them for a long time to come.
Kana(F): You're welcome!
Hinoka: You know, we didn't pick those flowers we saw the other day... But we did make some nice memories when we went to go look at them. I hope we have many, many more memories like them. How about you?
Kana(F): I hope so too! I love you so much, Mama!
Hinoka: Heh. I love you too, Kana!
