Percy: Mom, I'm home! Is dinner ready yet?
Charlotte: Ahh, there you are, Percy. Dinner is cooling on the table.
Percy: No time to wait! I'm gonna dig in.
Charlotte: HOLD IT! Did you wash your hands?
Percy: Oops, I forgot. I'll run and wash them.
Charlotte: Geez, slow down! We have plenty of food. What's your rush?
Percy: I have to eat fast... Every moment I'm not training is a missed opportunity. Eat fast, train fast! I need to get big and strong quickly. How else will I be able to keep you safe?
Charlotte: Heh, you're going to protect me, huh?
Percy: I promise, I'll never let anything bad happen to you. You can count on me!
Charlotte: That's sweet. But how about you focus on chewing properly for the time being. You won't be able to train if you have a terrible stomachache.
Percy: Good point, Mom. For the time being, I'll train myself to eat quickly but efficiently.
Charlotte: If you insist. Let's eat up!

Percy: Mom, I'm back!
Charlotte: Percy, your knee is bleeding! What happened?
Percy: Fear not, Mom! This scratch is merely a symbol of my dedication to training.
Charlotte: Well you better let me disinfect that right away.
Percy: No, no, it's OK. I'm sure it will be fine if we leave it alone.
Charlotte: No, it's NOT OK! If that wound festers, you won't be happy— trust me. We have to clean and dress that cut.
Percy: I'm fine—don't worry. But if it will make you feel better...
Charlotte: Well of course I'm worried. I'm your mother, after all. Now hold still so I can put some medicine on that scrape.
Percy: Youch! You didn't say that would sting! Can you try to be a little more gentle?
Charlotte: You can't deal with an itty-bitty amount of pain? You won't be able to protect anyone if you act like a little weakling.
Percy: What? No, I was just...pretending! Yeah, I was totally just pretending it hurt. I can't believe you actually fell for that. Go ahead, put on more medicine. I can take it.
Charlotte: Lucky for you, I only needed a tiny dab. So how did you end up hurting yourself?
Percy: I was running down a mountain as fast as I could. But I lost my footing and tripped.
Charlotte: It's amazing that you walked away with only a small scratch... You're very lucky. Do me a favor and knock off the reckless training, OK?
Percy: But... How can I get strong enough to protect you if I quit?
Charlotte: Percy, you're a very sweet boy. I know your heart is in the right place. But no true protector puts themselves in harm's way for a cheap thrill. It's simply thoughtless. You're the dearest person in the world to me. I don't want to see you get hurt. Understand?
Percy: You're right... I'm sorry, Mom.
Charlotte: It's OK. Just be careful. Would you like something to eat?
Percy: Yes please! All that tumbling made me hungry.

Percy: Hey, Mom...
Charlotte: Did something happen, Percy? You look rather gloomy today.
Percy: I'm just not sure if I can actually get strong enough to protect you.
Charlotte: Why would you even think that?
Percy: There are so many strong people all around the camp. Much stronger than me... What do I do if I come across a foe who is more powerful than I am? Thinking about that makes me lose confidence...
Charlotte: Hmm...I see. Well, don't worry yourself. If you work really hard, you can be the strongest of all.
Percy: You're just trying to make me feel better...
Charlotte: Why would I lie? I've noticed all the effort you've put into your training. If you keep it up, someday you will be the strongest person in the world.
Percy: Someday isn't good enough. What if evil rears its head before I'm ready to defeat it?
Charlotte: You have nothing to worry about. I'll keep watch over you until your training is complete. Then, when you're all grown up... you can watch over me.
Percy: That sounds like a great plan. I'm gonna bust my tail and work even harder. Then no enemy will dare challenge me.
Charlotte: I'll cheer you on all the way. And hey, maybe I'll make some of your favorite dishes too!
Percy: Yay! Thanks, Mom!
