General Tidbits
Cezar's Lucre
From Chapter 4 and onwards, if total funds fall below 3,000 Denari, placing Cezar and Athol adjacent will yield Cezar's Lucre, a cash item that can be sold for 1,000 Denari. This event can be done at most once per map.
Variable House Dialogue
Some houses have variable dialogue depending on the visitor. If a house is still open after being visited, chances are, someone else can visit it for different dialogue or a unique event. Can you find them all?
Variable Escape Quotes
Some units have variable escape quotes depending on the situation. In particular, Ash supposedly has 4 different quotes. Can you find them all?
Give Sticky Items to Someone Else (Japanese Version Only)
There are sticky items in the game (e.g. Chapter 3 Old Statue, Chapter 6 Slice of Tasha's, Chapter 12 Volant Totem etc.) that cannot be traded or sold. However, one can bypass this limit in the Japanese version of the game, by dropping the item to the Stockpile using a unit with a full inventory, then taking it out with another unit adjacent to a unit with Stockpile access (Zade or Tallan). Note, however, that this cannot be done in the English Version, since the updated version of the SRPG Studio engine does not allow sticky items to be sent to the convoy even with a full inventory.
Chapter-Specific Tidbits
Athol and the Pirate (Prologue)
Athol has unique dialogue for being attacked by the Pirate that attacks the Thorcian Carrack.
Merida's Fate (Chapter 2)
If Merida falls in battle as an NPC, she is not gone for good. Instead, she will appear later in Chapter 11 as a unique personal advanced class (Silken Knight) later in the game, but without her personal Dandelion spear. The Silken Knight class has more mobility than the Paladin class, the Multichance skill which grants a chance to perform additional attacks, additional growth rates from the Dark Horse class skill, and the Light Cavalry mobility paradigm.
The Old Statue Heist (Chapter 3)
The reward changes depending on who returns the Old Statue.
- If Sheela returns the Old Statue, she recieves Soaring Flame, a magical bow personal to her. - If Zayid returns the Old Statue, he receives Agza's Crescent, a strong accurate axe personal to him. - If anyone else returns the Old Statue, he receives the Flame Axe, a magical axe effective against physical non-armored infantry units.
Tyron's Revenge (Chapters 3-4)
If Zade seizes the Gallachian Ruins without killing Tyron, he will re-appear in Chapter 4, and there will be corresponding dialogue changes in the map.
Getting past the Rock blocking the Chest Room
If an axe user is placed adjacent to that rock, said unit has an option to destroy it. This is presumably mirroring how the brigands that are escaping from the top left are also in axe-wielding classes.
Matagroth the Black Wrath (Chapter 5)
The Wain Under Attack (Chapter 6)
As the NPC Wagon takes damage, there are 4 variations of dialogue from Maechen and Garlan (including the death quote which triggers a Game Over).
Dune's Search (Chapter 6, 9)
As Dune makes implies through his dialogue, deploying Dune in Chapters 6 and 9 will trigger a sequence of events leading to his origins. He will obtain the Bow of Aragoth☆ at the end of Chapter 9.
Zade and the Revenant Witch (Chapter 7)
Accorte can be recruited by having Zade use the Talk command on the Diabolist while the Revenant Witch is kept alive. This is hinted at various parts of the chapter:
- The Revenant Witch being killed displaying Accorte's portrait and a scream - The dialogue event between zade and the diabolist telegraphed in the unit roster - The suspicious circumstances near the abbey (The Devotionist, etc). - The (JP) chapter name is 'Witch and Scion' (魔女と貴公子)
In addition, if none of the Revenant Knights were killed in battle, the houses in the southwest will give items upon visit. (Accorte instead has unique dialogue) This is harder to do because the Revenant Knights are initially aggressive, though after a few turns they stop attacking.
Curtailing Zade's Walk (Chapter 7)
If there are less then 3 enemies up north remaining on the map, the map will simply end as Zade seizes. If there are more enemies remaining on the map, Zade will have to walk all the way to NPC Cyltan, who appears on the Malaya Greatyurt.
A Path Through the Woods (Chapter 8)
Zade can only visit this yurt up to Turn 5, since the map is completed at the end of Turn 15.
The Shyft Watchman (Chapter 9)
Upon engaging in combat with a Barbarian dubbed "The Shyft Watchman", the Deadshots and long-range magic Sorcerers will start moving, whereas before, they would remain stationary.
The Elthos Altar (Chapter 12)
If either Hoelun or Ma'aya prays at the altar, they encounter an event that can either reclass them or give them a class change item.
Hoelun can only reach the Altar via the Volant Totem, which she obtains . She is presented with 5 choices, each of which corresponds to a different reclass option.
- "A sestra, of course!": Reclass into Sestra - "An incredible swordfighter!": Reclass into Swordfighter - "A tarkhan like Uncle!": Reclass into Tarkhan - "Um, a magical girl?": Reclass into Vestal Mage - "Cyltan needs help more than me.": Obtain an Argent Saddle and the Flurry skill
Note that this event cannot be done with Hoelun if she agreed to Dolstoy's Offer in the Ulav Greatyurt back in Chapter 10.
Ma'aya can pray in the altar as well. Most of the sequence of choices yield Empyrean Wings, a flier class change item that class changes Eagle Riders into Raptor Knights. However, the following particular set of choices yields something different:
- "Power" - "Sword practice" - "A big serpent" - "Domination" - "My persistence and winning smile" - "Heck yeah!" - "Make me a frickin' dragon knight!"
With these choices, Ma'aya will class change into a Dragon Knight, gaining some points in Strength, a sizable increase in HP and Defense, and a point of Mobility. However, she will lose her Master Haggler skill, which allowed her to purchase from shops for 33% less gold.
The Altar is mutually exclusive for use between Hoelun and Ma'aya.
The Rusted Axe in the Lake (Chapter 14)
If you have someone with a Rusted Axe examine the signpost in the east side of the map, said unit will lose the Rusted Axe. The Water Faerie will present two choices, each of which will have different consequences.
- "Oh, um... the golden axe, of course.": Obtain a Golden Axe - "That's my rusted axe, all right!": Unit is transported to a forest tile on the north of the map
More Stat Boost Items (Chapter 16)
Zade has a talk event with NPC Athol before she visits each city. Each talk will add a stat boost item in the Stockpile.
- Before Arrival at Wallis: Liquid Resistance - Before Arrival at Caine: Liquid Fortune - Before Arrival at Marath: Liquid Strength - Before Arrival at Denton: Liquid Defense
If any of the talks are missed, however, the event flags for the remaining ones will vanish.
Growth-Boosting Accolades (Chapters 16-18)
Upon fulfilling certain conditions, the game will place certain growth-boosting items in the Stockpile.
Veldland Accolade: +10% growth to Defense and Resistance
- NPC Athol must visit each city within 8 turns - The Manlove (Pirate Ship) must be defeated by the end of the map - Titus (Chief Thief) must be defeated by the end of the map - Tabitha (Priestess) must be spared until the end of the map
Prisoner Accolade: +10% growth to Strength and Magic
- Keep all NPC prisoners alive
Frallian Accolade: +10% growth to Dexterity and Agility
- Keep all NPC hostages alive
Dune's Gauntlet (Chapter 17)
If Dune has completed his previous quest fhat led to Bow of Aragoth☆, he will face a gauntlet of fights with 4 enemies with one round of combat each in the southwest hut in trying to rescue Tallan and Lyttia. As the game makes it clear, it is advised to save the game before entering the gauntlet, for losing will trigger a Game Over.
A Dune at near base stats and/or without a class change may face a rather difficult time. Equipping him with a good weapon, or having means to support his various combat parameters nearby may be desirable to aid his odds. Alternatively, if Dune has enough bulk, it is safer to leave him without a weapon, as the 3rd fight will be skipped, and he will reliably withstand hits from the rest of the fights.
Ceddica's Will (Chapter 19)
The bottom left chest in Chapter 19 has variable loot: If Cyltan has the Am Solim☆ in his inventory, it yields a Ring of Bliss. If he does not, however, it yields a Withered Bow. When Adonsphair awakens, if Am Solim☆ is not on Cyltan's inventory (broken or otherwise) at that moment, and whoever is holding the Withered Bow☆ is in the Chamber of Seals, the Withered Bow☆ transmutes into Ceddica's Will☆, a light, powerful bow that strikes twice in a row, is effective against Dark Dragons, and confers extra Resistance to the unit.
