Hordes of incoming shadow warriors are never pleasant, and an army of shadow Xanders is about as terrifying as it sounds. The best way to deal with Xander is with magic, so you will want to station a mage of some kind at the allied base- Elise has healing magic, making her a very good choice. You'll also want a sword user for taking on the Axe Fighters to the north, a lance user to take on the Mercenaries (and Xanders), and one other unit of your choice for eliminating the Archers- a second magic user is good, as they can also stand up to Xander.

Right off the bat, you not only have the Xanders to contend with but also a pair of Heroes, who will attack your unguarded commander; he's stationed quite far from the allied base, so it's difficult to balance keeping him and the base safe at the same time. Butlers will also appear throughout the fight to heal the Xanders, along with Rally Captains to boost their morale. The only way to stop the infinite Xanders is to eliminate the two Dark Mages at the Upper N Hall and SW Tower. Once they and any remaining shadow Xanders are taken care of, the enemy base will be open. Xander is tough; you may want to capture all other forts to boost morale, otherwise he'll put up quite a fight.

A defenseless Villager will appear in the northern courtyard, being picked on by two Snipers. She'll advance to the allied base when they're eliminated, but two more will appear at around the last outpost, and she'll need to be rescued again. If she reaches the allied base, she will boost the morale of its fort captain. A small prize, but worthwhile if you're still having trouble with the Xanders.

An Axe Fighter will also spawn and begin searching for your leader. If he finds them, he'll call reinforcements, so either have somebody else intercept him or just have your leader kill him before he can finish calling.
