Percy: Mom, I'm home! Is dinner ready yet?

Beruka: Oh, welcome back, Percy. The food is cooling on the table.

Percy: No time to wait! I'm gonna dig in.

Beruka: Oh, no, that simply won't do. Have you washed your hands yet?

Percy: Oops, I forgot. I'll run and wash them now.

Beruka: What's the rush? There's no shortage of food here.

Percy: I have to eat fast... Every moment I'm not training is a missed opportunity. Eat fast, train fast! I need to get big and strong quickly. How else will I be able to keep you safe?

Beruka: You wish to protect me? That's sweet...

Percy: I promise, I'll never let anything bad happen to you. You can count on me!

Beruka: I know I can. But please, slow down and chew your food properly. A bad stomachache will get in the way of your training.

Percy: Good point, Mom. For the time being, I'll train myself to eat quickly but efficiently.

Beruka: Hehe. OK, Percy.

Percy: Mom, I'm home! Is dinner ready yet?

Beruka: Oh, Percy... Your knee is bleeding.

Percy: Fear not, Mom! This scratch is merely a symbol of my dedication to training.

Beruka: Well, we better get that scrape disinfected right away.

Percy: No, no, it's OK! I'm sure it will be fine if we leave it alone.

Beruka: No, it won't. If that cut festers, you could get very sick... Now sit down.

Percy: Geez, don't be such a worrywart.

Beruka: I can't help it. I'm your mother. I'm going to apply the medicine...

Percy: Youch! You didn't say that would sting. Can you try to be a little more gentle?

Beruka: How are you planning on protecting me if you can't deal with a bit of pain?

Percy: What? No, I was just...pretending! Yeah, I was totally just pretending it hurt. I can't believe you actually fell for that. Go ahead, put on more medicine. I can take it!

Beruka: How did you end up getting hurt?

Percy: Well, I was running down a mountain as fast as I could. But I lost my footing and tripped.

Beruka: And you walked away with just this little scrape? You're very lucky. Please, try not to be so reckless going forward.

Percy: But... How can I get strong enough to protect you if I quit training?

Beruka: I appreciate how much this means to you, Percy. But that's not a good excuse for putting yourself in dangerous situations. I don't want to be protected by someone with no care for their own safety. You're very important to me, and I don't want to see you get hurt.

Percy: You're right... I'm sorry, Mom.

Beruka: It's OK, as long as you understand. Now, how about we eat?

Percy: Yay! All that tumbling made me hungry!

A Support

Percy: Hey, Mom...

Beruka: Is something wrong, Percy? You seem down today.

Percy: I've been wondering... I don't know if I can ever get strong enough to protect you.

Beruka: Why do you say that?

Percy: There are so many strong people all around the camp. Much stronger than me... What do I do if I come across a foe who is more powerful than I am? Thinking about that makes me lose confidence.

Beruka: Hmm, I see. There's no need to worry. The key to getting stronger is hard work. Commit to training, and you can accomplish anything.

Percy: You're just trying to make me feel better.

Beruka: It's the truth. I've noticed all your efforts. Someday, I bet you'll become the strongest person in the world.

Percy: Someday isn't good enough. What if evil rears its head before I'm ready to defeat it?

Beruka: I'll keep watch over you until your training is complete. And one day, you can watch over me.

Percy: That sounds like a great plan. I'm gonna bust my tail and work even harder. Then no enemy will dare challenge me.

Beruka: Very good. I'll do everything I can to aid you. Perhaps we can train together. I know many rare combat techniques.

Percy: Really?! Thanks, Mom!
