Chapter 5: True Colors

Fortuna Office

Itsuki: Ms. Maiko, I forgot to mention it, but after we defeated that Mirage in Daiba Studio, we picked up this thing...

Maiko: Is that what I think it is!? What Itsuki has here is a piece of something called the "Dragonstone."

Yashiro: Dragonstone?

Maiko: Tiki might be able to regain her memories with this!

Yashiro: Truly!?

Itsuki: Let's go see Tiki!

>The screen transitions to the Bloom Palace where the group is seen approaching Tiki.

Itsuki: Tiki!

Tiki: Oh, big brother---and everyone! What's the matter?

Itsuki: By the way, Tiki, I want you to take a look at this.

Tiki: A rock...? I feel like I've seen this before... Aah! What--- What is this...? I... nngh...

Itsuki: What's wrong!?

Tiki: Ah...

>Tiki collapses to the floor, unmoving.

Itsuki: Tiki! Open your eyes, Tiki!

Tiki: ...

Tsubasa: Tiki:

TIki: ...Hm... mm... ngh... Is parfait really that tasty...?

Mamori: Did she just... fall asleep?

Kiria: ...Looks like it.

Tsubasa: Phew... Thank goodness... I was really scared there...

>The screen transitions back to the Fortuna Office in front of Maiko's desk.

Tsubasa: Tiki's still not waking up...

Itsuki: Yeah...

Touma: You don't think that Dragonstone thing might've actually really hurt her?

Maiko: There's nothing to worry about. She's going to be fine---there's no way it could cause her harm. It returned some of her memories. She's just a little overloaded with information right now.

Tsubasa: Her memories?

Maiko: It's very likely that the shards of the Dragonstone are the keys to Tiki's lost memory---and her powers.

Touma: Really?

Maiko: I believe Tiki's Dragonstone shattered after the Mass Disappearance five years ago. I found a shard myself not long after. I met Tiki pretty soon after that, but she had already lost all her memories and powers. When she came in contact with the shard I had then, some of them were restored.

Yashiro: The stone and the girl are clearly connected... but what of the Uta-loid software? It hardly seems irrelevant.

Maiko: Sharp as ever, Yashiro. You could say the Uta-loid "Tiki" is an anchor that allows her to remain in this world. The strength she regained from that one piece of Dragonstone I had wasn't enough to maintain her form. To keep existing in this world, TIki needs an immense amount of Performa. That's why I made the Uta-loid "Tiki." Now, she's supported by Performa born from the passion of the public.

Yashiro: And thus, her power is sustained... Hm. I see.

Maiko: Tharja had to help us out---and there was a bit of trial and error at first---but that's about it. Makes sense?

Yashiro: Yes, I understand now.

Kiria: ...And after our last operation, we came across a second Dragonstone shard for Tiki. She should be able to regain all her memories if we can gather the remaining pieces.

Yashiro: That does beg the question, however, of why that Mirage had a shard at all...

Ayaha: Everyone, the show's about to start.

Touma: Oh, geez, already? C'mon, we'd better get comfortable.

Tsubasa: Ohhh... I'm so nervous.

>The scene transitions to the TV with an elderly man with a scarf around his neck shown on the screen with the title of DAIBA TV PRESIDENT and his name MAHIRO TSURUMI underneath.

Tsurumi: This year, our company will be welcoming its 50th anniversary. The spread of the Internet has vastly increased the ways in which people can acquire entertainment and information. As lifestyles begin to shift, we in the television industry must change to better suit the needs of our audience. That is why I came to one conclusion: the networks must not merely compete, but learn to cooperate as well. As the first step in this new direction, we have united the forces of each network to bring you a grand experience... "Enter-Kingdom"!

>The screen shows the president with his arms wide open and the title "ENTER-KINGDOM" behind him.

Tsurumi: It will expand Tokyo itself, and events will run at Shibuya 106, Daitou TV Station, and Daiba Studio throughout. At Shibuya 106, we will hold a live concert produced by Yatsufusa Hatanaka, called... Music Fes! At Daitou TV Station, we will hold a stage performance directed by Kuen Tarachino, called... Musical Fes! At Daiba Studio, we will hold a fashion show produced by Nobu Horinozawa, called... Muse Fes! ANd on the final day, comedians will gather to the Comedy Coliseum at the Cosmic Egg, with Teru Gojuin hosting! We will also hold many limited-time events throughout the entire expo in many different areas. I wish for everyone to enjoy all the different kinds of entertainment on offer, from music to comedy. And finally... we will be featuring the up-and-coming idol Tsubasa Oribe as our spokesmodel for the event! Ms. Oribe is scheduled to participate in many of the events, starting with Muse Fes.

Tsubasa: Th-Th-Thank you for selecting me for such an important role. I-I hope I don't let a-anyone down! B-But I would like to g-g-give it my all to make this huge event a-a success! And, um... anyway! I hope you all have fun!

Tsurumi: Hahaha, thank you. Now then, everyone, I hope you look forward to Enter-Kingdom.

Maiko: With this, your fame's going to skyrocket! You've got a lot of events to handle besides Muse Fes, so you'll be super busy... I hope you're ready.

Tsubasa: Y-Yes...! I'll do my best to make Enter-Kingdom a big success!

Maiko: Kiria and Mamori, you two are participating in Music Fes!

Kiria: Right.

Mamori: I'll give it my all and sing with all my heart!

Maiko: Yashiro and Ellie, you two are participating in Musical Fes!

Eleonora: This'll be nothing compared to the silver screen! You'd better be ready, Yashiro!

Yashiro: ...I always act to the utmost of my ability. That's all there is to it.

Maiko: And Touma, you're going to be in the Hero Fes that's taking place in the middle. Start psyching yourself up!

Touma: Yes, ma'am!

Maiko: Fantastic! Come on, everyone... Let's go out on the town tonight! Drinks are on me!

Itsuki: Er... Ms. Maiko? I think that's more for you than for us...

>And so, a few days later...

>Shibuya is shown with events and Music Fes and Enter-Kingdom signs around.

>When gameplay is initiated, the player will receive the following urgent Topic from Maiko:

Maiko: Yo, homeslice! What's groovin'? What are the haps?

The player is given three options on how to respond:

  • Hello.
  • Um... just chillin', dawwwg.
  • You're dating yourself, Ms. Maiko.

If the player chooses option 1:

???

If the player chooses option 2:

Itsuki: Um... just chillin', dawwwg.

Maiko: Tmsfe-sticker 01.png

If the player chooses option 3:

Itsuki: You're dating yourself, Ms. Maiko.

Maiko: What!? Now that's just rude, Itsuki!

Maiko: And I'll have you know I'm still a beautiful young starlet! Hmph!

Itsuki: Sure.

Regardless of what the player chose:

Maiko: So Enter-Kingdom has finally started, huh?

Maiko: Tsubasa's pretty much the tqalk of the city now that's she's the spokesmodel for an event as big as this.

Itsuki: She really is.

Maiko: You know, the reason Tsubasa could take advantage of all her opportunities was because you were there.

Itsuki: What are you talking about? It's thanks to you getting work for her, and Tsubasa's own efforts. Not mine.

Maiko: Well, yeah... Tsubasa definitely gave it her all.

Maiko: But I feel we were able to get all these good results because you were there helping her.

Maiko: And ever since you joined our company, Kiria and Touma have been getting more worked. They're even trying out new things.

Maiko: I just wanted to say... keep it up! (' u~)-b

Maiko: And that goes for me as well!

Itsuki: I'm not really sure what you mean, but I do plan on continuing what I've been doing.

Maiko: Oh, one more thing! They're holding events in places other than Shibuya, you know. You should try giving them all a visit.

Shibuya 106

>When talking to Mamori:

Mamori: Oh. Hello, Itsuki.

Itsuki: Hey.

Mamori: *Sigh* I know my turn isn't for a while... but I'm so nervous...

Itsuki: You're going to be fine. We all know how good you are and how hard you've been working for this. Even the people running this event know how talented you are---that's why you're going to be onstage.

Mamori: Th-Thank you, Itsuki.

Itsuki: I'll be sure to come watch when your song comes up.

Mamori: Okay! I'll do my best and give my greatest performance yet!

>When talking to Kiria:

Itsuki: Hey, Kiria.

Kiria: Oh, Itsuki.

Itsuki: Waiting for your turn to come up?

Kiria: Yeah. The Music Fes isn't just a solo concert, so I have a lot of free time between appearances. What brings you here, Itsuki?

The player is given two options on how to respond:

  • Saying hi to everyone.
  • Patrolling for Mirages.

If the player chooses option 1:

Itsuki: I'm just going around saying hi to everyone. This way, I can check out all the events, too.

Kiria: Good. I'm sure everyone will be even more motivated if you drop by to cheer them on.

Itsuki: You think so?

Kiria: Yeah. Oh, and Itsuki---make sure you keep an eye out for Mirages too. With an event this big, there's a high chance that the enemy Mirages might go after all the Performa around here.

Itsuki: Yeah... that's true.

Kiria: Let's keep a lookout for any violent Mirages, so Enter-Kingdom goes off without a hitch.

Itsuki: Understood.

If the player chooses option 2:

Itsuki: I've been patrolling for any Mirage activity.

Kiria: I see... With an event as big as Enter-Kingdom, the amount of Perfoma here must be pretty staggering. In which case, there's a good chance some Mirages might turn up to get a piece of it.

Itsuki: Yeah... that's true.

Kiria: Let's keep a lookout for any violent Mirages, so Enter-Kingdom goes off without a hitch.

Itsuki: Understood.

Daiba Studio

Tsubasa: Oh, Itsuki! Did you come to watch Muse Fes?

The player is given three options on how to respond:

  • Yeah.
  • I forgot you were in it.
  • You don't look busy at all...

If the player chooses option 1:

???

If the player chooses option 2:

Itsuki: I completely forgot you were in Muse Fes.

Tsubasa: Wha--- That's so mean! I was so happy when I saw that you came to visit me!

Itsuki: Oh, sorry. I was just lost in thought about something else.

Tsubasa: ...I-Is it about another girl!? Aw...

Itsuki: Well, I guess you could say that...

Tsubasa: Mrgh... I knew it...

Itsuki: I'm worried about Tiki.

Tsubasa: Oh... Yeah, I hope she's okay... I know she hasn't woken up yet...

Itsuki: Yeah. But, I suppose worrying won't change her situation---all we can do is wait for her to wake up... By the way, are you on break?

Tsubasa: Mhm. I'm not part of the program they have running right now. So I'm just taking easy until they need me.

Itsuki: Well, I shouldn't keep you for too long. I'll be heading out then.

If the player chooses option 3:

Itsuki: You don't look busy at all... They didn't cut you, did they?

Tsubasa: Wh-- N-No! I just changed out of my stage clothes, since I'm on break!

Itsuki: Oh, good. With you in your normal clothes, I wondered if you had done something clumsy again and gotten fired.

Tsubasa: C-Clumsy? Again!? *Sigh* Itsuki, sometimes I wonder how we can see things so differently...

Itsuki: Relax. I'm just kidding. I'm glad to see you're working hard, though.

Tsubasa: ... I'm still worried about Tiki... But there's not really much I can do for her, so I just have to do my best here.

Itsuki: Yeah, you're right... but all I can do is wander around town and keep my eyes out...

Tsubasa: That's not true. We can all give our best because you come by to cheer us on.

Itsuki: Thanks, Tsubasa. Well, I shouldn't keep you for too long. I'll be heading out then.

Daitou TV Station

>When talking to Elenora:

Eleonora: Well, if it isn't Itsuki. Let me guess, just strolling around with nothing to do, as usual?

The player is given two options on how to respond:

  • Same goes for you.
  • I'm very busy.

If the player chooses option 1:

Itsuki: You don't look too busy yourself, Ellie. Weren't you supposed to be participating in the Musical Fes?

Eleonora: Wha--- Hey, I'm SUPER busy! My show doesn't start until later, so I'm busy over here practicing!

If the player chooses option 2:

Itsuki: I don't have that much free time. I'm busy doing other stuff.

Eleonora: Oh? And what exactly do you have to do?

Itsuki: Well... stuff.

Eleonora: Ugh, whatever... I guess there's nothing really wrong with that.

Itsuki: Ellie, as far as I can tell, you're just standing around... Don't you have anything to do?

Eleonora: O-Of course I do! My show isn't for a while, so I'm getting into character.

Regardless of what the player chose:

Itsuki: "Your show"?

Eleonora: Each performance during Musical Fes has a slightly different cast. And the script also changes a little bit every time, so no two performances will be the same. So if you've seen it before, you still won't get bored. And it symbolizes how you only get one chance at life.

Itsuki: Hm...

Eleonora: You better come watch when it's my turn onstage. See you later.

>When talking to Yashiro:

Yashiro: ...

Itsuki: Yashiro? What are you doing?

Yashiro: Oh... Aoi. Some brief mental rehearsal---nothing terribly pressing. Some time remains before the next performance. It's best I get in as much practice beforehand as possible.

Itsuki: That's some dedication.

Yashiro: If I'm to present the best performance possible, then I can hardly afford to miss an opportunity to improve.

The player is given two options on how to respond:

  • I'll be cheering on you.
  • I can't slack off.

If the player chooses option 1:

Itsuki: I'll be cheering for you.

Yashiro: You say that as if it's none of your concern. I can tell, however--the fire of the dramatics burns within you. It's not often I meet someone I can call my equal.

Itsuki: I think that might be an exaggeration.

Yashiro: Perhaps. Perhaps.

If the player chooses option 2:

Itsuki: Guess I can't slack off, then.

Yashiro: A fine sentiment, Aoi. It's not often I meet someone I can call my equal.

Itsuki: I think that might be an exaggeration.

Yashiro: Perhaps. Perhaps.

Toubo Rooftop

Touma: Sup, Itsuki. What're you up to?

Itsuki: Just some moral support. You'll be in that Hero Fes during the middle of the event, right?

Touma: Aw, man, you shouldn't have! Nice to know someone's got my back. I'm gonna make sure the Hero Fes is a blast for both the kids and adults. It's gonna be the best show yet.

Itsuki: Sounds good.

Touma: But, uh... when I'm not performing, I've basically got nothing to do. HIt me up if anything weird happens.

Itsuki: Got it. I'll be counting on your help if anything comes up, Touma.

>The conversation ends.

Ituski: (I wonder if Tiki's woken up... I should go to the Bloom Palace and check up on her.)

Bloom Palace

Tiki is seen sleeping on the stone that she usually stands in front of.

Tiki: Mmm, nngh... Don't wanna get up... Just... five more years...

Itsuki: Not awake yet, huh...

>Itsuki gets up and begins to leave.

Tiki: Big... brother...?

Itsuki: Tiki!?

>Tiki sits up and stretches.

Tiki: ...

Itsuki: You were asleep for a long time. Are you okay?

Tiki: Mhm...

The screen transitions to Tiki floating in front of Itsuki as usual.

Tiki: Big brother... I remember it. I... remember now.

Itsuki: Remember...? Are your memories back?

Tiki: Mhm... I don't remember everything yet, but now that I have a piece of the Dragonstone, a lot is coming back. Do you know that incident five years ago? Where lots of people vanished...?

Itsuki: The one that Ayaha was involved in, right? And Kiria, too.

Tiki: I... I remember that now... and what exactly happened inside the theater...

Itsuki: Y-You do?

Tiki: ... It was because someone tried to take everyone away... It was all because of an evil man named Gharnef.

Itsuki: Ghar...nef?

Tiki: Mhm... Some people called him the Dark Pontifex. He's a really powerful sorcerer and a bad, awful person...

The player is given two options on how to respond:

  • This "Pontifex" is behind it all?
  • Why is he doing this?

If the player chooses option 1:

???

If the player chooses option 2:

Itsuki: Why has he been doing all this!?

Tiki: Gharnef wants to use the people of this world to power his own magic. I tried to stop him... but I couldn't do it...

Yashiro: That was when I was saved by Tiki.

Itsuki: Yashiro.

Yashiro: ...

Tiki: I remember you too... You were that boy back then... You've really grown.

Yashiro: Tiki... ...I've waited so long. On the opening night for the opera "The Pilgrimage of Heinrich"... Gharnef possessed the lead---my father. He transported everyone in theater to the Idolasphere. I was in attendance, so I was no different.

Tiki: If I had only gotten there sooner... I might have been able to save more people.

Itsuki: So Tsubasa was safe because... you saved her...

Tiki: But... a lot of other people got...

Yashiro: None of that was your fault, Tiki. Gharnef is the one who's ultimately responsible for it all. Within the Idolasphere, he was conducting some sort of... ritual. A strange and terrible ritual...

Tiki: ...The Opera of Shadows.

Itsuki: You know what that is?

TIki: Gharnef caused the incident five years ago so he could perform a magic ritual known as the Opera of Shadows.

>The screen transitions to a drawing of a dragon coming down from dark clouds with red skies over mountains.

Tiki: The Opera of Shadows is a terrifying ceremony... It's said to bring amout the destruction of the world.

Itsuki: The whole world...

Tiki: Uh-huh... It summons a monster with the power to destroy the world---the Shadow Dragon.

Caeda: ...! I know that name...

Tiki: It's an emperor of dragonkind... It's gigantic, and strong, and really, really evil. And five years ago, Gharnef performed the Opera of Shadows to summon that dragon. ANd... that wasn't the only time... Long ago, he invaded our homeland and summoned the Shadow Dragon there.

Caeda: Our homeland...

Tiki: A war had been raging for a long time, so everyone changed into forms that let them fight with all their power. That was the world we lived in... We really believed that if we all banded together, we could defeat him... ...To stop Gharnef, so many people came together to join us.

Chrom: ...And what happened, in the end? Did you beat that madman?

Tiki: We all joined together! There were so many of us, and we believed in each other, and we fought and fought... But we... we couldn't... After that... I was sent to the Idolasphere---the domain that lies between your world and ours.

Itsuki: ...

Caeda: But that means... our world must be...

Tiki: W-Well, I was transported to the Idolasphere before I could see what really happened, so I don't know... But because I saw Gharnef perform the ritual before, I realized what was really happening five years ago. If he had completed the Opera of Shadows... your world might have been destroyed, then and there.

>The scene transitions back to the group with CHrom and Caeda standing with the three.

Itsuki: What kept him from finishing the ritual five years ago?

Yashiro: ...My father. Gharnef seized control of him, but my father fought back against his possession... and sacrificed himself.

Tiki: Just when I thought Gharnef would overpower me... Yashiro's father was the one that stopped him.

Yashiro: Gharnef tried to kill me, and in order to prevent him from doing so... my father chose death.

Itsuki: Yashiro...

Yashiro: Gharnef's behind everything---the celebrity disappearances, the Mirage attacks... He still aims to perform that ritual... The Opera of Shadows. I will find Gharnef, and I will avenge my father. That is why I have come this far. He lost my lost my father as a vessel five years ago, so he must have been forced into a new host.

Itsuki: Who could he be using as a vessel...?

Tiki: I don't know... I've only remembered a little bit...

Yashiro: If we can complete restore Tiki's memories... that could provide some clue as to the vessel's identity.

Itsuki: I think you're right... We should focus on helping return Tiki's memories.

Caeda: Tiki, if I may... there's something I'd like to ask you.

Tiki: Mhm. What is it?

Caeda: In our world---our true home---are we...?

>An earthquake occurs.

Tiki: Eek!

>The earthquake continues for a while before subsiding.

Itsuki: Tiki... are you okay?

Tiki: Yeah... I'm okay. But, I can sense something really bad...

Itsuki: ...Something really bad?

Yashiro: An earthquake, in the Bloom Palace...?

Itsuki: I'm getting a message...

>The player will receive an urget Topic from Barry. It goes as follows:

Barry: HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!

Itsuki: What's the matter, Barry?

Touma: oh, you felt that earthquake just now? it was a pretty big one

Barry: Who gives a damn about an earthquake! Besides, if me and my fellow Witches in Training jumped up and down, we'd be louder!

Eleonora: I don't know if that's something to brag about... Barry, you seriously need to lose some weight.

Barry: SHUT YOUR DAMN FACE!!!

Barry: But this looks really bad! I was attending an event for Dia Witch, and I suddenly saw the Cosmic Egg getting bigger!

Touma: cosmic egg? that huge baseball stadium in korakuen?

Kiria: "growing bigger"? what exactly do you mean?

Barry: I DON'T KNOW HOW THE HELL ELSE I'M SUPPOSED TO EXPLAIN THIS!!!! Just head over and take a look for yourself!

Yashiro: The Cosmic Egg is swelling up...!? What exactly is going on...?

Itsuki: We should go investigate the Cosmic Egg right now. I'm sure everyone else is heading there, too.

Cosmic Egg

Upon arrival, a ggantic egg appears with a sinister aura with purple lightning around and a dark circle above the tip.

Tsubasa: Whoa...

Itsuki: It definitely looks like something's growing. It looks almost like an actual egg of some kind...

Barry: I was at a Dia Witch event at the Korakuen when I saw the Cosmic Egg. Something rotten is in there, no doubt about it.

Kiria: Good thing Barry was so close by. Sounds like he caught this thing early.

Barry: It's my solemn duty to protect all my magical witches-in-training! I'll let you guys handle the rest. Go get 'em.

'Itsuki: Understood. Everyone, we're going in. Just be careful.

Gameplay is resumed and as the player goes deeper into the Cosmic Egg, the player is stopped halfway before th Idolasphere.

Kiria: ...There's something bad here. I can feel it in the air.

Yashiro: It appears as though a staggering amount of Performa is flowing into the Cosmic Egg itself...

Touma: Whoa, what's this spooky barrieri... wall... tower... thing? It's blocking the way!

Itsuki: We'd better ask Tiki. She's awake now, and it seems she's gotten back some of her memories.

The player will receive the following Topic from Tiki:

Tiki: How did it go, everyone? This is really important, so I want to hear it directly from you.

Tiki: I'll be waiting at the Bloom Palace.

Bloom Palace

>Itsuki and the others tell Tiki about the state of the Cosmic Egg...

Tiki: So it's like a big egg now?

Touma: It looks pretty nasty. We need to do something about it, and fast... but ther's a freaky barrier in the way.

Itsuki: We couldn't get any further, so we came back here. You have any insight on the situation, Tiki?

Tiki: It could be using a Dragonstone shard.

Itsuki: A shard?

Tiki: Yes. The Dragonstone is originally mine, so I can sorta tell. It feels like... a little while ago, a lot of Performa started flowing from my Dragonstone to the Cosmic Egg. I don't know for sure... but I think they might be using some of that Performa to make the barrier.

Yashiro: That explains why the enemy had the shard in the first place...

Eleonora: Then let's just get it back! We foil their stupid plot, and Tiki gets her memories! Two birds, one Dragonstone.

Tiki: Mhm. The final Dragonstone shard is in another place. It's a little hazy, but if I track the flow of Performa...

>Tiki starts trying to think with her hands on her head.

Tiki: This is... a TV station? It's where Mamori sang... inside the Idolasphere...

Mamori: That would be... Daitou TV Station.

Tiki: It feels like Performa is flowing from all kinds of places to the Dragonstone in the Daitou TV Station Idolasphere...

Itsuki: They're gathering Performa there...? What exactly are they trying to do?

Yashiro: We need only stroll in and see for ourselves.

Itsuki: Yashiro, can we count on your help?

Yashiro: Hm. You still feel obligated to ask? I have made my choice to fight at your side. You may rest assured.

Itsuki: It's a little embarrassing to hear that from a celebrity like you...

Yashiro:' To underestimate your own abilities is to limit yourself, Aoi. You help those around you to grow and succeed. If nothing else, you must understand this: You are more than fit to be our leader.

Itsuki: Me, a... leader?

>A light envelopes Itsuki and an orb floats from his chest as Itsuki gains a new Performa: Guiding Light.

Itsuki: This is... my Performa?

Yashiro: Confirmation that you yourself are a first-class artist.

Itsuki: You really think so...?

Tiki: Yashiro's right, big brother. You already had all that power in you. You only just realized it now. That's how you got a new Performa.

Yashiro: It is proof, Aoi---a testament to the hard work you've put in to reach this point. You need only accept it.

Itsuki: Accept it, huh...

Tiki: Big brother, you have the power to be a leader---the power to unite everyone's hearts and minds.

Touma: All right! Time to bust in, vanquish the villains, and save the day!

Itsuki: Yeah.

Tiki: Gharnef is really powerful. Make sure you don't do anything reckless, okay? If any of you got hurt, I dunno what I'd do...

Itsuki: ...We know, Tiki. We won't do anything to make you sad. Okay, everyone... we're going to take back that Dragonstone shard!

>As gameplay resumes, the player will receive the following Topic:

Kiria: okay, everyone. let's confirm what we need to do before we jump in here.

Kiria: to break the barrier within the Cosmic Egg, we have to find the Dragonstone shards. Daitou TV Station's probably our best bet.

>After talking to Tiki to unlock new Radiant Skill for Itsuki:

Itsuki: Me, leading everyone...? I never really thought of it like that.

Chrom: Well, they do say we make the worst judges of our own character.

Itsuki: I guess that's true.

Chrom: Itsuki. With this new power, I'm sure you can cut your own path through whatever may come.

Itsuki: Let's go. We've got a shard to track down.

Fortuna Office

>As soon as the player exits the Bloom Palace, Maiko calls out.

Maiko: Itsuki! You need to come see this!

>Itsuku runs over to the TV screen as a dark Yashiro appears on the TV screen with a bunch of Mirages behind him.

Yashiro?: I, Yashiro Tsurugi, would like to announce a secret live concert... However, it is invite-only. And I wish for an audience of only those with vibrant Performa... I shall await you upon a grand stage---one befitting my true magnificence. Ta-ta!

Itsuki: Yashiro, what's going on...?

Yashiro: ...Ta-ta?

Itsuki: Uh... Yashiro?

Yashiro: ...No, it's nothing. Come. Daitou TV Station awaits.

Daitou TV Station Idolasphere

>Upon approaching a previous unbreakable wall, a scene occurs.

Navarre: Just up ahead. I sense something... a presence not unlike Tiki's.

Yashiro: So a Dragonstone shard might be somewhere close by?

Navarre: Seems likely.

Itsuki: (I should be able to break a wall like this now...!)

>Through "N" door:

Itsuki: Is it just me, or does this place feel a little different from the others...?

Yashiro: This is---

Itsuki: A poster... for Yashiro's concert.

Yashiro: ...

Itsuki: Yashiro?

Yashiro: ...Nothing. We're moving on.

>When approaching a blue static-like tunnel blocking the path:

[Editor's note: a few dialogue are missing here.]

Itsuki: But we won't be able to get past, at this rate--- Huh? Oh, I just got a message from Tiki.

>The player will receive an urgent Topic from Tiki:

Tiki: Big brother! I tried to sense where all that Performa is being collected in the Dragonstone is coming from.

Tiki: Um... It looks like Performa's being gathered from all over Enter-Kingdom!

Tiki: But it looks like most of it's coming from the 106 and Daiba Studio Idolasphere!

Tiki: If you don't stop the flow of the Performa from those two... I feel like something really bad might happen...

Itsuki: Got it. I'll try heading over there. Thanks Tiki.

Tiki: It was nothing! Good luck, big brother!

Itsuki: It looks like this Performa is coming from the 106 and Daiba Studio Idolaspheres.

Yashiro: I see. Then let's go.

Shibuya 106 Idolasphere

>At B1F

Mirage: Oh, you people are... the backup dancers for the concert coming up, right!? The meeting already started! It's really important! Right now, the whole staff is gathered together to send Performa to the venue! The meeting place is below here! As always, please come through the clothes!

>The Mirage went somewhere.

Itsuki: (There's a flow of Performa below here... We should go check it out.)

>At B3F

Mirage: You finally came... Before you enter the meeting, I'll tell you what you need to do. Your task is to get the large mannequins in these exact poses. If you consider yourself artists, then no matter how good you are, you should be able to appreciate detail work. Right?

The player is given two options on how to respond:

  • Ah... Yes, of course.
  • No, not really...

If the player chooses option 2:

Mirage: You become top-class by attending to every single tedious detail! And subpar entertainers have no place in the meeting! Strive to be top-class! Once you get the mannequins in their right poses, please come back hree! Now, off you go!

If the player chooses option 1:

Mirage: As I thought! If you were just amateurs that don't appreciate detail work, I'd block the door even if it meant I missed the meeting. But I think you guys are qualified. Once you get the mannequins in their right poses, please come back here! Now, off you go!

>If the mannequins are adjusted incorrectly:

Mirage: Are the mannequins in the right poses? I'm gonna go take a look just to check!

>The screen goes black for a second.

Mirage: ...Ugh...! What's going on!? The mannequins aren't in their right poses! Only once you're a perfectionist about the most tedius details will you be a top-class entertainer! I won't let amateurs through!

>If the mannequins are adjusted correctly:

Mirage:' Are the mannequins in the right poses? I'm gonna go take a look just to check!

>The screen goes goes black for a second.

Mirage: Oh, the mannequins were in the right poses...! Well, if you're dancers, there's no way that you could get that wrong! Now, I'll open the door, so hurry up and get to the meeting! It's the room at the end of the downward stairs outside!

>Upon entering the door to B4F.

Yashiro: This must be the source of that Performa being streamed to the Dragonstone in Daitou TV Station.

Itsuki: We have to stop it...

>A generic Mirage shows up.

Mirage: All of you, we're having a meeting! Now! Get to it!

Eleonora: Sorry, buddy, but the meeting's canceled!

Mirage: You're trying to get in our way, are you!? Everyone, get them!

>Two more generic Mirages appear.

Itsuki: Let's do this!

>The battle initiates.

>After the battle ends, the light in the center dissipates.

>It seems the flow of Performa has stopped.

Touma: Hell yeah! And we finished 'em with style!

Itsuki: Nice job, guys. Let's keep this going and stop the other one, too!

>As gameplay resumes, the player will receive a new Topic in the Main Story:

Eleonora: Looking good! All we need to do now is head to Illusory Daiba Studio!

Daiba Studio Idolasphere

>Upon breaking the wall on the right side and entering the room, the player is to talk to the green hunk Mirage standing at the right corner.

Mirage: Hm? You the temp security in charge today? Geez! You're late! The meeting's almost about to start! We've got a really important job sending Performa to the stage. Everyone's busy, so you better hurry! And... Oh, right. I need to give you this!

>Obtained Mysterious Memo, which reads: 018769.

Mirage: Just follow the path like they taught you in training! Come on! Get going!

Itsuki: (There's the source of the Performa... Better head in to check it out.)

>When the player has reached the end of the maze using the note to navigate, Itsuki and co. will enter the room.

Tsubasa: Look! A bunch of Performa is coming out!

>A generic Mirage shows up.

Mirage: Y-You! You're the ones from the report! You've been pretending to be part of the staff to sneak your way in!

Yashiro: Then there's no further need for conversation. We're going to break this connection.

Mirage: Rrrrraaaagh! I will avenge my friends!

>Two more generic Mirages show up as the battle initiates.

>After the battle ends, the bright light at the center of the room dissipates.

>It seems the flow of Performa has stopped...

Tsubasa: It looks like we stopped this one, too.

Itsuki: I'm worried about what Tiki said... and about that fake Yashiro. Let's go to Daitou TV Station.

>As gameplay resumes, the player will receive the following Topic in Main Story:

Mamori: Um, just confirming with everyone! We just defeated the Mirage in Daiba Studio!

Mamori: Now we can get further into Illusory Daitou TV Station! We did it everyone!

Mamori: Tmsfe-sticker 28.png

Daitou TV Station Idolasphere 2

>When interacting with the flow of Performa previously blocking passage:

Itsuki: (The flow of Performa seems to have finally disappeared... We can move on now...!)

>In the area.

Mirage: Hey now! We meet again! And... perfect timing! Give me a hand. We need more people to help with concert setup! There were requests for help from three places, so make yourself useful! They're in small rooms, to the north, east, and south! Go ask each of them for the details! Once your job is done, feel free to come watch the show...! Okay, get it done!

Inside Illusory Daitou TV.

>In the Lantern Room at East:

Mirage: Oh, are you the help?

Itsuki: I guess that's us.

Mirage: I'm the stylist. Charmed, I'm sure. Now, I want to adjust Yashiro's costume, so I just need a similar--- Oh! Oh, look at YOU! You're like a perfect body double for Yashiro!

Yashiro: Hm? Me?

Mirage: Well, who else, boss, who else? Now come on, I need you to just come this way for a little bit...

Yashiro: ...

Itsuki: Yashiro... Could you just deal with it long enough for us to move on...?

>The screen goes black for a bit before transitioning back to the room with the three of them.

Mirage: Faaantastic. All done. You were such a big help. I'd better go tell the director I'm done here...

>The Mirage leaves.

Yashiro: ...

Itsuki: What's wrong, Yashiro?

Yashiro: That was... actually not bad at all. That Mirage has impeccable handiwork!

>In the Lantern Room at North:

>There are three Mirages in the room.

>There is clearly something going on between two of them.

Mirage on Guard: E-Excuse me... Could you please, um, quiet down a little? I'm also excited about Mr. Yashiro's concern, but please...

Miscreant Mirage: Hey, hey, hey! Us extras are gonna go get Mr. Yashiro's concern all heated up!

Rowdy Mirage: Mr. Yashiro was the most successful of all of us, so... I hope he kills it out there! Eheheheheh! I'm getting so fired up! Let's keep our hype up and get the real show on the road!

Mirage on Guard: (*Sigh*... I really wish someone would discipline them...)

>You approach the Mirages.

Mirage: Ah, wait, did the director send you? I came to investigate the noise, and the extras are causing a ruckus in the dressing room... I want them to quiet down, but I'm not so good with, you know, confrontations... Could you discipline them in my place?

The player is given two options on how to reply:

  • ...Understood.
  • Now's not a good time...

>If the player chooses option 2:

Itsuki: Now's not a good time...

Mirage: Aw, please don't say that... I'd really appreciate your help...

>If the player chooses option 1:

Itsuki: ...Understood.

Mirage: Okay then, please do your worst.

Mirage: Wow, you're so strong. You lookin' for a job in security? Kidding, kidding. I'll be fine for now, so I'll let the director know.

Itsuki: (Will this be okay for now...?)

>In the Lantern Room at South:

>There are two Mirages in the room.

>They seem to be have started to talk after moving in front of the destroyed poster posted on the wall.

Haughty Mirage: Seriously, what's this "I am the true Yashiro" crap? The guy gets a little stronger, and suddenly everyone's swooning over him...

Easygoing Mirage: But Mr. Yashiro's strength is unparalleled. We couldn't possibly compare ourselves to him.

Haughty Mirage: It's probably just 'cause he happened to be the closest one to that stone when he was guarding it... And all that Performa gathering in the stone ended up affecting him. That's the only reason he's so strong, right? And not only mimicking a human, but holding a secret concert...? He's not thinking about all the staff who have to work setup for him.

Easygoing Mirage: Well, before he got all that strength, he wasn't really that different from the rest of us. Ah, I'd better get going now. Excuse me. Good luck getting the props ready.

>One of the mirages left the room.

>As the player approaches the remaining Mirage.

Mirage: Ey, you... Could you possibly be here to help us out? We're the props team. How ya doin'. Look, I know it's a little sudden, but could you get us Light Essence for the lanterns? You can find Light Essence in the small room on the west side of the building. Please bring back 3 of them, please and thanks!

In Lantern Room at West:

>In the room, you see the Mirage you helped out before--the one called the AD.

Cast Mirage: Bruh! Scuse me, bruh!

Staff Mirage: You did a fine job at the recording of the Soulless Serenade Special. You have a great singing voice.

Cast Mirage: Yeah! Yeah, bruh, I was SLAMMIN' IT! So for this concert too, dog, I gotta sing again! The stage is callin' me!

Staff Mirage: Uh, I-I'm sorry, but that's... probably not going to happen.

Cast Mirage: Huh!? Bruh, why you being like that!? I'm tellin' ya, I'm the greatest! I WILL sing for that concert!

Staff Mirage: What with all the Performa being gathered at the Dragonstone, our friends are also getting interested in entertainment. We would love to accommodate everyone and ask all our friends to sing, but... For this concert, we're only permitting artists with Perform strong eough for Mr. Yashiro to acknowledge. No exceptions, I'm afraid.

Cast Mirage: Bruh!? What're you doing!? Yo, let me go! Bruhhhhh!

Staff Mirage: And I'm checking equipment... Anyone not working on the show really shouldn't touch it. I'll have to ask you to leave.

>The Mirage was sent out of the room.

>When the player talks to the NPC at the center:

Mirage: Hey, good work. Thanks for helping me out back there. I'm helping the Director right now, taking care of the equipment.

>Back at Lantern Room at South:

Mirage: Oh, you brought the Light Essence back! I'll let the director know that you helped us. Thank you.

>Handed over 3 Light Essence(s).

Itsuki: (I think we're done with this place for now. Did I take care of all of them...? Let's go back to the director for now.)

>Back at main room with Mirage

Mirage: Oh, it's you guys! I got the messages! As I promised, you can go watch the show for as long as you want!

>It seems a new path leading to the next area has opened.

Mirage: And y'know, if you go right now, it actually might be the perfect chance to speak with Mr. Yashiro himself! Okay, till next time!

>As you approach the bridge: You sense an ominous presence from beyond this point... The imposter Yashiro may be waiting up ahead. If you are going to challenge it to a fight, Yashiro needs to be in your main cast...

>When Yashiro is in the main cast:

Itsuki: (I sense a dangerous presence beyond the bridge... What should I do?) Recommended Level: 49

>The player is given two options on how to reply:

  • Proceed
  • Do Not Proceed

>If the player chooses option 2:

Itsuki: (I should prepare for this first...)

>If the player chooses option 1:

Itsuki: Is this... one of your songs?

Yashiro: ...Yes, it is.

Woman's Voice: Yashiroooo!

Woman's Voice: Omigod! He's so dreamy!

Woman's Voice: Yashiro! Yashiro! Yashiro! Yashiro!

>Figure in front turns around to face player.

Dark Yashiro: Ah, and there you are... my darling self.

Yashiro: ...

Itsuki: He looks and sounds... exactly like you. Is he the one with the Dragonstone shard?

Dark Yashiro: My name, peasants, is Yashiro Tsurugi... and I am an artiste of the highest order...

Yashiro: Filthy imposter. Is that what you believe Yashiro Tsurugi is? I would never say "ta-ta," or... "darling."

Itsuki: Wait... that's what's been bothering you?

Dark Yashiro: You WILL bow before me.

Itsuki: Ngh... what the---

Yashiro: That song seems to exert some dominating influence over the minds of others...

Woman's Voice: Yashiro! Yashiro! Yashiro! Yashiro!

Woman's Voice: Ahhhh! Yashiro's so hot!

Yashiro: Pathetic. Imitating my appearance and voice... I was admitted curious as to what you'd do, but is this your best? You've failed the staff that worked so hard to make this performance happen. For an artist, there is no greater sin. Hmph. Fine then, you pitiful itle fraud... Allow me to show you who Yashiro Tsurugi REALLY is.

>Battle initiates.

Dark Yashiro: I stand before you... the true Yashiro Tsurugi! En garde... for I shall shower you with the power of Yashiro Tsurugi himself!

>Right after you beat the boss:

Dark Yashiro: M-my song... was drowned out...!? Rrrrgh...! Why!? Why are we still so different!?

>After battle:

>Obtained (Key Item) Dragonstone Shard.

Yashiro: I have no time to waste on impersonators.

Itsuki: I knew you could do it, Yashiro.

Yashiro: Hm. You gave quite an impressive showing yourself. We should return to Tiki.

Itsuki: Yeah. I'm sure this'll help restore her memories.

>Party is transported to Bloom Palace.

Tiki: Oh, big brother!

Itsuki: Tiki, we got a Dragonstone shard back!

Tiki: Wow, thank you! Then let's hurry and start the-- A-Aah!

>A spark flies through Tiki.

Yashiro: Tiki, what's wrong!?

Tiki: Ah... Hah... NO!

Itsuki: Tiki!

Tiki: B-Big brother... It's Gharnef... ...H-He's calling to me... I-I'm... scared...

Yashiro: Gharnef...! Where!? Where is he!?

Tiki: It's coming from where the barrier was...

Yashiro: The Cosmic Egg... Aoi, the time has come. We will find him, and we will END him.

Tiki: Be careful, everyone!

Itsuki: We will. Sorry, Tiki, but the ritual will have to wait.

>Itsuki receives a new topic in Main Story

Touma: reporting in, ms maiko. we're heading to the cosmic egg now

Touma: tiki's saying that gharnef is over there! we're gonna go check it out ASAP

Touma: Tmsfe-sticker 13.png

>At the Cosmic Egg near barrier:

Itsuki: No... Mr. Hatanaka!?

Hatanaka: Hey, everyone! Great to see you all! Ah, you have NO idea how long I've waited to confront you like this. Sorry for hanging on to the Dragonstone for so long. Don't worry though... I'm all done with it.

Itsuki: Done what?

Hatanaka: The ritual to resurrect the Shadow Dragon, of course! With this much Performa, NOBODY can stop it!

Yashiro: It's yo---Gharnef!

Itsuki: Yashiro, stop! Mr. Hatanaka's just being controlled... We need to save him first.

Hatanaka: Mm, yeah, about that... Sorry, Itsuki. Nobody's controlling anybody. I'm just like you. Gharnef and I are partners, sharing a bond... Isn't that right?

Gharnef's Voice: Heh heh heh... If that's what you call a common interest... well, I suppose we must be.

Yashiro: You bastard!

Gharnef's Voice: You impudent bastard!

Gharnef's Voice: Heh heh... Chikaomi Tsurugi's Performa is truly unparalleled. With this power, all elder magic is mine to command.

Yashiro: That's... my father's...!

Itsuki: Mr. Hatanaka! How could you cooperate with Gharnef!?

Hatanaka: The resurrection of the Shadow Dragon would be... the ultimate entertainment! A production worth risking my life for! Tokyo, tragically ravaged by an evil dragon! But plucky kids and unearthly warriors join to stand against it! It would be the greatest performance... the swan song of this world! That is my vision! THAT is entertainment!

Itsuki: No, it's an abomination! Mr. Hatanaka, you're making a mistake. And we're going to stop you!

Hatanaka: A, a Lord's Master! Yes, say your lines! Play your part! Or it won't be any fun! Ahyahyahyahya!

Itsuki: He's insane...

Yashiro: Unforgivable!

Itsuki: Wait, Yashiro---

Yashiro: Wait...? You want me to wait, Aoi!? You want me to stay my hand when my father's murderer is a slice away!? If after all this, all I can do is stand and watch him escape again... what has it all been for!? Please... Please, tell me... What am I supposed to do!?

Itsuki: Yashiro...

Yashiro: I just wanted to be like my father... to stand on stage with him as an equal. That was all I wanted!

Itsuki: Yashiro... Dammit! What can I do...? Isn't there anything I can do...?

>Everyone starts to glow.

Itsuki: This light...?

Chrom's Voice: Your will to help your friends and comrades... You've awakened the true power of a Lord! You don't have to think about what needs to be done... You just have to do it, one more time! Itsuki! Yashiro is calling for your help... and you must answer him!

Itsuki: Got it! Yashiro... this is my guidance--for you, and your emotions! Haaaaaah!

Hatanaka: Wh... What's this light!? Aheyhahahahahahaha!

>A light emerges from Itsuki's hand from Yashiro and fills up Hatanaka.

Gharnef's Voice: Khhurrrgh! No... Chiakomi Tsurugi's Performa... If this continues, the barrier will... Ghhaaaahh!

Yashiro: Father...

Gharnef's Voice: Gghh... we've lost that old man's power. Yatsufusa, this is it for your little games. We have much yet to do.

Hatanaka: I suppose. I wasn't expecting such a twist. Ah, you've really messed up my schedule.... Oh, but how thrilling!

>A dragon with a rider shows up.

Hatanaka: My little friend here's just going to buy us some time. But don't lose! Only the Shadow Dragon gets to kill you! Well, I'll see you around! Ahyahyahhahahahaaahaa!

>Battle initiates.

Yashiro: ...

>After Itsuki approaches Yashiro and screen goes black.

Yashiro: ...

>The player is given two options on how to reply:

  • You must've loved your father.
  • What was your father like?

>If the player chooses option 2:

Itsuki: What kind of person was your father?

Yashiro: Even as a child, I could tell that acting was his one and only passion. But even so... I was happy to have a man like him as my father...

>Player is given option 1 to reply:

Itsuki: You really loved your father, didn't you...?

Yashiro: ...He was a great man. All I ever wanted... was to be like him. As an actor. As... a person.

Itsuki: Your father sacrified his life to protect yours... but we're going to avenge him.

Yashiro: ...

Itsuki: I never met your father, and I don't know a lot about him... but I know he'd want you to live---no matter what.

Yashiro: Yes... Until the very end, he always protected me... ... Even if he is no longer with me, he lives on in my memory. And I can no less afford to disappoint him now. You have my thanks, Aoi. I will... Yashiro Tsurugi will be toyed with no longer. Agreed?

Itsuki: Yeah.

>If the player chooses option 1:

Itsuki: Yeah.

>Screen transitions to the entire group.

Touma: Hey, Itsuki... you hear that stuff about the Shadow Dragon...?

Itsuki: Mr. Hatanaka said the ressurection is too far along to be stopped.

Tsubasa: B-But, Itsuki, that means...

Kiria: If he was telling the truth, then things look pretty grim.

>The player is given two options on how to reply:

  • We should go see Tiki.
  • We have to kill it...

>If player chooses option 2:

Itsuki: Our last chance is to slay the Shadow Dragon...

Kiria: You're right... If it's too late to stop the resurrection, that might be our only shot. ...Itsuki, we don't have time to waste.

Itsuki: We'll go straight back to the Bloom Palace. We still need to restore Tiki's memories, first. No matter what, we'll stop him... and protect this world. Mr. Hatanaka's wrong. Entertainment is a way to express yourself... not a way to hurt people.

Yashiro: Agreed. And I... will wipe Gharnef from this world.

>If player chooses option 1:

Itsuki: We should go back to see Tiki. There isn't much more we can do here.

Kiria: Yeah. If we can't stop the dragon from resurrecting, then we might just have to kill it again. ...Itsuki, we don't have time to waste.

Bloom Palace

Tiki: Big brother! Is everyone okay?

Itsuki: Yeah. Thanks to you, Tiki, we found out the truth about Gharnef.

>The screen goes blank.

Tiki: So that's it... And we... can't stop the ritual?

Kiria: If what they say is true, the ritual has already gone beyond the point where we could disrupt it somehow.

Itsuki: Isn't there anything we can do?

Tiki: Oh, um... If I can get back some more memories with the Dragonstone shard, maybe I could think of something...

Itsuki: Right. I guess that's all we can really bank on at this point...

Tiki: Mhm. I need a little time first, though.

Itsuki: All right, Tiki. It's up to you.

Chapter Five True Colors End

Intermission

>Itsuki receives an urgent Topic from Maiko

Maiko: Hello, Itsuki! Let's begin mission number five then!

Maiko: "But Ms. Maiko," I hear you say, "we don't have time for this when the world is in peril!" But Fortuna Entertainment must go on!

Maiko: No matter the situation, a first-rate performer must be ready to stand on stage or in front of the camera.

Maiko: This time it's going to be really important! Why...?

Maiko: Of course, I'll never tell. <3

Maiko: It'll be at Uzume Lesson Studio.

Maiko: I'm sure you have a lot to do, so you can just come by after you've finished all you have to do. Good luck!

Maiko: Tmsfe-sticker 16.png

Uzume Lesson Studio

Yashiro: Aoi. You're getting too wrapped up in the choreography. Your singing is suffering for it.

Eleonora: You gotta be careful about when you move and when you breathe! Find a timing that works for you!

Itsuki: G-Got it!

Mamori: Whoa, Itsuki, you're sweating like you're sick! What's going on?

Eleonora: Oh, you haven't heard? One of the Musical Fes performers had to drop out, so Itsuki here is filling it. He'll be on his own, though. We're all in different shows.

Mamori: Oh, I see! It sounds really tough...

Itsuki: It is, but I don't know when I might get another opportunity like this. I thought I'd give it my best shot.

Barry: So I got everyone to come help me put Itsuki through his paces!

>The screen transitions to Kiria and Touma appearing by the door.

Kiria: Ellie. Yashiro. Time to switch coaches.

Eleonora: Oh, sure. You might as wellt ake a little break too, Itsuki.

Itsuki: I just want to do... a little more, first...

>The screen transitions to Itsuki panting in front of Kiria and Touma.

Kiria: You're looking pretty good, Itsuki.

Touma: Not too shabby!

Tsubasa: Itsuki!

Itsuki: Tsubasa? What's wrong?

'Tsubasa: Itsuki, it's almost call time! You have to get to the stage!

Itsuki: Wh--- Wait, already!? Thanks, Tsubasa!

>Itsuki runs off.

Tsubasa: Good luck!
