Strategy

The eastern half of the map is home to Spear Fighters, the center is full of Oni Savages, and the western half is Archers. Your army should include powerful axe and sword users to match that.

First up, you might want to take out the Archer stationed between your forts; he's dangerously close to your Allied Commander, and will kill her if he so much as breathes near her, so take him out just to be safe. The first Ruffian will advance from the east, however; a Spear Fighter bent on conquering your eastern fort. You should have an axe unit laying in wait there to snare him in a painful trap. Before he even reaches the base, a pair of Monks will spawn to provide aid. They'll heal their allies if you let them live, so take them out when you see one, but otherwise don't worry too much about them. The remaining two Ruffians will advance now. They are an Archer targeting the west fort, and an Oni Savage targeting the Allied Base. They both have to make quite a journey, so you may distract yourself taking out nearby enemies, just make sure you intercept the Ruffians.

Once all Ruffians are dead, Takumi will open his base, but not before siccing a whole bunch of the remaining captains on your bases. This includes Oboro and the Sniper. They may not be Ruffians, but they can still demolish bases quite quickly. An Archer will also appear and target your lead unit; if he finds them he'll summon reinforcements, but squashing him quickly will prevent that. Push through and advance on Takumi.
