This content was originally provided by luigi bros.

The purpose of this guide is to rate the various pairings for the second generation and to find the most effective pairings.

Structure

This guide is divided into seven sections, one for each mother. In each section, I will rate the pairing with five males chosen from a poll at the Serenes Forest forum.

There are five categories that I will be rating the pairings on:

1. Value for the son (Stats and inheritance only)
2. Value for the daughter (Stats and inheritance only)
3. Skills passed down
4. Difficulty to acquire (How long or how much it holds back one of the characters)
5. Overall value (Not necessarily an average)

Afterwards I will rank them in order of best to worst (1-5)

Rules

The first generation is assumed to be completed in a reasonable amount of time, but not necessarily for a perfect ranking. What is not allowed is weakening an enemy only to let them heal and repeat the process, letting the enemy leader retreat to his castle and fight an infinite amount of reinforcements, or waiting until turn 50 to actually fight and just have all the characters together until turn 50. Arena use is permitted.

The ratings for each child in a pairing are based solely compared to alternate versions of themself, not other units. For example it is very possible that Levin!Arthur is the best unit in the second generation, but at the same time Noishe!Lakche gives a great version of Lakche. In this case, both children will receive high ratings. Otherwise many units could be graded down simply because they don't have a horse, for example.

Notes and information

Character charts:

  • A weapon rank bonus of "+1" means the child's weapon rank is increased by one grade. "Max" means the weapon rank is increased to * Level.
  • Base stats are calculated by using the parents' average stats at Level 30. The Luck stat can vary by around +/- 5 points.
  • Growth rates have the Holy blood bonuses factored in.

Notation: For example, Levin!Fee means Fee but with Levin as the father

About Fin: If he is not paired, he will retain his inventory when he re-joins during Chapter 7. If he is paired, he comes with just an Iron Lance, meaning he will be less effective from the onset. Take caution of this.

Inheritance: If I say a father cannot pass down weapons, an exception is if the father obtains a dropped item that he can't use, but the son can--in which case it can be inherited.

Pairings

This is a list of the pairings that will be ranked (in order of join time):

Pretty much just experiment with the number one or two pairings. The overlapping fathers are Levin who's the best partner for both Fury and Tiltyu, and Dew who's the best partner for both Aira and Brigid.
