Strategy

You'll be facing a wide variety of enemies, including a lot of Dark Mages. Your four controllable units should include swords and lances primarily, and at least one strong anti-magic unit to take on Elise and her battalion of Dark Mages.

Camilla and Elise will both go after Caeda; the latter poses little threat to Caeda's high Resistance, but Camilla has a triangle advantage so take her out first. The Dark Mage will target Marth, but must cross the whole map to reach him. As such, you should primarily focus on defending Caeda, while sending one of your units to automatically protect Marth. Once Caeda's assailants have been defeated, switch control to whomever was assigned to Marth and deal with his assailants. Early on, a Villager will appear to spectate. If you impress him, he'll promote into a Swordmaster and protect your commander.

Once the allies have been rescued, Xander's base will open and a Dark Mage will appear around the center of the map to advance. Take him out then move on Xander, or gather up more KOs for an S Rank.
