Ophelia: Hmm... I wonder where Shigure went. Normally I wouldn't look for him in the hills and fields... But I couldn't find him anywhere around the camp.

Shigure: *singing*

Ophelia: Ah, there he is! Huh, so he was out here after all. I wonder why he's just sitting on that tree stump? And who are all those peop— What?! Those aren't people! They're forest animals! Rabbits, squirrels...even wolves. What in the name of the gods is going on...? Wow... They're all sitting together quietly.

Shigure: I think that's enough for one day. How did you like it?

Ophelia: I-it looks like he's telling them a story.

Shigure: Ahh? Who's there?! Oh no! Come back!

Ophelia: Uh-oh. The animals all ran away. Umm, sorry, Shigure. I didn't mean to frighten them. It's all my fault.

Shigure: You just startled them, Ophelia. And you startled me too! But don't worry about it. They can't help being a little bit shy. So tell me, what are you doing all the way out here?

Ophelia: Hmm... I haven't seen Shigure anywhere around camp today. Shine bright, star of eternity, and lead onward to my dear brother... To the soothing meadow of relaxation—the quiet clearing deep in the mountain forest. I seek he who is engrossed in conversation with servants of the goddess. Heehee! I knew he'd be here! Shigure!

Shigure: Ophelia?! What are you doing out here? Ah! Oh no! Wait!

Ophelia: Oh dear. I seem to have frightened them once again. They certainly are quick. I'm sorry, Shigure.

Shigure: Oh, don't worry about it. They aren't used to other people being around here. It's easy to startle them.

Ophelia: Oh, I see... It's truly amazing that you get along with these creatures so well. We may have the same parents, but we are very different people. I could never do what you do.

Shigure: Why were you looking for me again? Did you need something?

Ophelia: Yes! I haven't given up. It would mean a lot to me if we could spend time together. After all, you're my only brother in the whole world.

Shigure: That's true. Well sure, we can hang out if it really means that much to you. I appreciate that you want to get to know who I am. Listen, I'm sorry for being rude the other day. The last thing I want to do is let you down.

Ophelia: Really? Would you mind if I stayed here for a little while? Oh! Maybe you could call back those animal friends of yours.

Shigure: The animals... Ah well. I don't think they'll want to come back while you're here.

Ophelia: What? But why? But they all seem to love you so much. If that's true, shouldn't I be able to make friends with them as well? Do you have any secret advice for me?

Shigure: Hmm... I'm not sure if this will help, but... Animals are highly attuned to the feelings of people around them. Most likely, they detected something in you that drove them off. They were fine until you got here, so I think it was definitely related.

Ophelia: To me? But I never once considered them my enemies!

Shigure: What's the matter, Ophelia? You look unhappy. Did something happen?

Ophelia: Well... I wanted to ask about the animals from before...

Shigure: Oh? Did you go to visit them while I was out and about? I'm just about to leave now, if you want to come along. Do you think you're ready to prove that you don't mean them any harm?

Ophelia: I've been thinking about that a great deal. Under a veil of darkness, I opened my ears to the dim whisper of my heart... And it showed a glimmer of animosity living within me at the time...

Shigure: What do you mean? Were you feeling some strong emotion when you arrived?

Ophelia: The truth is, I felt jealous of the animals. You played with them so lovingly, yet you treated me so coldly. In the moment, I got frustrated and wished that they would vanish. I'm sure that's why they ran away. I feel like a horrid person...

Shigure: Ophelia, I'm glad that you thought about this and talked to me.

Ophelia: I've decided never to return there again.

Shigure: Don't say that! I think you should definitely go back. You've opened up, and the animals will be able to tell you've changed. I think they'll be more welcoming.

Ophelia: I'm not sure...

Shigure: I am. You didn't have to tell me you were feeling jealous, but you did anyway. That tells me that you've got a good soul inside of you. They'll be able to tell, too. Look! There's a rabbit coming this way!

Ophelia: Ahh! What do I do?

Shigure: Just calm down... Relax, and take a breath. Quiet your mind, and be peaceful... Just think about how you want to be friends with the furry critter.

Ophelia: O-OK, I'll try... ... Ah! Shigure, look! Look! He's letting me pet him! How cute... It seems like he's really enjoying it...

Shigure: See? I told you it would all be fine.

Ophelia: Yes, thank goodness! This is wonderful!

Shigure: Now you can meet all the other animals! I think you will get along with everyone. Let's wander to the clearing in the woods. I bet your new friends will be waiting there.
