Nina: Mmm...that was really something. The way those men were chatting like old friends... What could they have been talking about? The mind wanders...
Azura: Ah, hello, Nina. I wasn't expecting you back so soon.
Nina: Gah! Mother?! What are you doing here? I thought you were training! You didn't hear me talking about...stuff... Did you?
Azura: "Stuff"? Whatever do you mean?
Nina: Nothing! Don't worry about it! Whew...
Azura: Speaking of stuff...I meant to tell you that I straightened your room today. No thanks necessary, dear. You're welcome.
Nina: Mother! That's my private space.
Azura: You'll find the books that were under your bed stacked on top of your desk. I wasn't sure where you'd want them, so I left them there for you.
Nina: Oh my gods, oh my gods, oh my gods... PLEASE tell me you didn't open any of those books...
Azura: Nina, it's a bad habit to mumble. Speak up, dear!
Nina: My diaries and journals, Mother! Did you read them or didn't you?
Azura: I know better than to look into a girl's private things. What you write in your journal is for you, not your mother. I respect that. Although, really... To know your mother read them would be worse than whether she did or not, hmm?
Nina: What's that supposed to mean? It sounds like you DID read them! Well? Did you or didn't you? ARRRRGH!

Nina: *sigh* Why does it have to be so difficult...
Azura: What do you mean, dear?
Nina: Oh...hi, Mother. I...I dunno.
Azura: Nina...if you're having a problem, you can always discuss it with me. I'm your mother.
Nina: Well, I suppose things can't get any worse... I...I have a hard time talking to guys. But I think about them all the time! I feel like such a freak. Like they know that I'm thinking about them... And I just clam up and turn red. It's so awful!
Azura: I think what you're going through is more common than you realize. Many girls your age have a difficult time speaking to boys.
Nina: Ugh, you don't understand! When I finally manage to stammer a few words out... I start acting super mean and creepy for no reason! I need to change. But I don't know how...
Azura: Recognizing what you're doing wrong is a good start. It's not everything, but as long as you're sincere in your desire to change... A little bit of consideration will go a long way toward your dealings with others.
Nina: You really think so?
Azura: It won't happen overnight. But your goal is an achievable one, I think.
Nina: Thanks, Mother. I actually feel a little bit better.
Azura: Admittedly, I'm a bit shocked to know you're shy around boys. I wouldn't have guessed it by what I found in your journals...
Nina: Wait, so you DID read them? AGHHH! I'm going to DIEEEEEE!

Nina: Hey, Mother. Guess what? I talked to a guy today, and it wasn't weird at all!
Azura: That's wonderful, dear! What was the secret?
Nina: Well, it was pretty basic as far as talking goes. I just gave him directions. But I didn't say anything weird or run away randomly!
Azura: Even a little bit of progress is good news.
Nina: Right? I've been giggling about it all afternoon.
Azura: I'm very proud of you, Nina. This could be the start of big things for you. Maybe you'll even outgrow your old hobbies...
Nina: I thought we agreed to never speak of...my hobbies...ever again!
Azura: Pardon me, dear. They've just been on my mind lately... You certainly had a wide range of stratagems for eavesdropping on boys.
Nina: How many of my diaries did you read, Mother? Jeez!
Azura: Not all of them! Just enough to glean that Avatar would be interested in perusing them.
Nina: WHAT?! Why would you do that? WHY?
Azura: Why, you're a prodigy of spycraft, dear! And your diaries proved it. If we train all our soldiers in the techniques you developed... Think of the intelligence we could gain!
Nina: Great. Now everyone knows what a huge freak I am. Thanks, Mother.
Azura: You're not a freak, dear. You're my special little girl, and I love you. Come give your mother a great big hug!
